QUESTION: ARE THEY GOOD FOR A WORK SHOE
• Yes, I have 2 pair.1 for work, 1 for play.I work long hours and need comfortable shoes.keep in mind they are ventilated, they will get wet but dry out quickly. I work indoors so not a problem for me.
• Tough question. I guess it depends on what kind of work. Construction? Or Office? I would say no more or less than any other sneaker. They certainly would not last as long as under normal wear. They are, of course, not safety shoes (no steel toes!). But they are comfortable and provide a lot of support. They are more of a walking and light hiking shoe, I believe. I am on my third pair in about 12 years. They last a long time. I keep an old pair for working around the house. When they get old (like 4 years old), sometimes the sole comes unglued, particularly if you put them in the washing machine. However, shoe goop or other adhesive puts 'em right back together again. BTW, most sneakers have expanded polyurethane soles, and they do 'compress' over time, so even if a sneaker LOOKS good after a few years, in terms of support, it may be shot. Good Luck!
• I've not used these shoes for work, but I have worked in jobs which required me to be on my feet for 6-8 hours at a time. From my experience with these shoes, I would absolutely expect them to be very supportive and comfortable. These are my second pair, with the first pair lasting 6 years.
• That's what I'm using mine for. They don't have a steel toe but the soles are thick and strong with a good aggressive tread, and they are more comfortable than work boots that cost much more. If you don't need a heavy work boot then these should work fine. I tried on Redwings and a couple other premium work shoes before I decided to go with the Merrells. The other brands were all too heavy for the way I work which would slow me down too much. These are somewhere in-between an athletic shoe and a work boot.
• Yes then are depending on what kind of work you do, they are designed for outdoors hiking
• Only if you work in an area where you know there's no chance of getting wet. Other than that they keep you cool, but if your job calls for steel toes, these are not.
• I suppose you could use them for work shoes but the sole is primarily designed for outdoor activities.

QUESTION: ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ON A LOW CUT SOCK WITH THESE? I TRIES THE UNDER ARMAUR RESISTER LOW CUTS AND THE BACK OF THE HEAL WAS TOO LOW
• I have some black socks made by No nonsense that seem to work very well. Only problem, I don't remember where I bought them or when. Perhaps you can find on internet.
• Smartwool PhD outdoor light micro socks.
• Try SmartWool low cut sick
• Darn Tough Vermont Men's Merino Wool No-Show Light Cushion Athletic Socks are rated very high on hiking websites. Amazon sells them.
• no low cuts work very well, however, an ankle sock will work fine.

QUESTION: ANY PROBLEM WALKING THROUGH WET, MUDDY TRAILS? DO THEY DRAIN AND DRY OK? ANY DAMAGE AFTER?
• I live in Tucson Arizona. ..mostly dusty trails here...we only get 10 inches of rain per year. ..if I've hosed away mud off the soles a few times ...and used a wet cloth on them. ..i use water type hiking shoes for walking in and through creeks. ..for canyon hikes that are meant for that purpose
• Haven't had the pleasure yet. Fit great and have worn in snow without any issues.
• These are fantastic shoes! Like any good equipment, however, owner care is critical. Take them on wet, dusty, muddy, snowy, or otherwise tough terrain...they will NOT disappoint you. They are fantastic shoes, and, with a little post-adventure clean-up, they return to their great condition each time. Again, however, without proper clean up and care, they will deteriorate more quickly. These are tough shoes, and they do not require a lot of effort in up-keep. They drain great and take a beating very well. I give them my highest endorsement. If you are looking for serious trail running shoes, check out the Solomon SPIKECROSS 3 CS. I have worn them during two Tough Mudders, and they are still AWESOME! Most people donate or throw out their shoes after a Tough Mudder, but I just soak my Solomons, rinse them, and put them in the washing machine with a load of clothes. Like the Moabs, they clean up perfectly. DO NOT, however, put either of them in the dryer. They will shrink. Let the m air-dry. Hope this helps.
• Made for the trail. Resistant to water and when soaked they do drain well. Long lasting and resistant to damage. You won't go wrong buying this shoe.
• They are not waterproof. Would recommend getting a Goretex version if you encounter wet or muddy trails and want to keep your feet fully dry. Otherwise they are excellent.
• I don't wet muddy trails , but there wear great and have been worn in the rain and do really well. My third pair, 5 stars!!!!!!
• These shoes are not M select dry as stated.M select dry are $115 and it is stamped on the top of shoe.If you want waterproof shoes make sure they are M dry or spend another $15 and get Gortex.

QUESTION: WILL THESE STREACH OUT A LITTLE OR SHRINK?13W IS 1/2" TO BIG,12W IS JUST A LITTLE SNUG. 12.5 WOULD BE PERFECT BUT DOES NOT HAVE A WIDE=/
• I have a similar problem with my shoe size selection . Typically I buy and wear 13, but my foot size is a 12.5, too. The only shoe that I wear smaller then a 13 is my work boots, the are Red wings. My Merrells feel great in a 13. They fit and are comfortable enough to wear all day, anywhere.
• Mine stretched a tiny bit but nothing dramatic. I've found that an ill fitting shoe really can't stretch enough to suit me.
#Merrell_Men's_Review

QUESTION: HOW DO THEY FIT, A TYPICAL 9 FITS ME EXACTLY, BUT NARROW TOE SHOES AND SOME HIKING SHOES/BOOTS I FIND I NEED A 9.5? ANYONE HAVE THESE? HOW WERE THEY?
• The size was fine but I returned these shoes after two short walks - not comfortable and not enough effective padding. Back to New Balance for me.
• These fit perfectly. Exactly as expected. They have plenty of room in the toes and are very comfortable. I have yet to see how they will hold up Long term but I am extremely happy with them to this point. I do not think you will be disappointed.
• I normally wear an 11 in other hiking shoes but had to move up to an 11.5 in the Merrill's. After reading some of the reviews, when I ordered my first pair, I ordered both an 11 and 11.5 and kept the 11.5. I should also mention that I use an aftermarket orthotic because I need more support and cushioning. As for the toe box, for me the medium width offers plenty of toe room.
• I wear a wide shoe and they fit perfectly. On my feet all day and these are the only shoes I wear.
• I get a good fit with Merrells because they seem to run a little small, in my case with no half sizes, the next whole size fits well. And they're not a narrow toe. Nice shoes.
• I am in between 9 and 9.5. I always wear a 9.5, but with these shoes a 9.5 was too long and wide in the toe. I exchanged for a 9 which I have not received yet but I think it will be good. I think a 9 will be good for you, if anything it may be a bit roomy width wise.
• Excellent transaction! Shoes fit my husband perfectly and he loves them.
#Merrell_Men's_Moab_Ventilator_Hiking

QUESTION: THE SHOE IS NOT SNUG AT THE BACK, AROUND THE HEEL. IF I TIE THE LACES DOWN TIGHT, THEN IT HURTS MY FEET. HAS ANYONE ELSE FACED THIS?
• I have had mine for about a week now and I have not experienced that problem. I on the other hand do not cinch down my laces that much. If you are having issues the shoe might be the wrong size or the wrong width.
• Sounds like you don't have the right size...mine fit fine in the back.
• Try what they call the "bunny ear" shoe string tie. Google it for a picture or ask any shoe clerk. It really works
#Merrell_Men's

QUESTION: HOW DO THEY HOLD UP IN WET CONDITIONS AND CAN YOU WATERPROOF THEM? IF SO, WHAT SORT OF SPRAY?
• I haven't put any waterproof on mine & they dry out quickly, but I live at a high altitude.
• I haven't taken these anywhere wet yet but my previous pair did pretty good for the first year so when you came to wet stuff. If you want to get them sprayed I suggest finding a local shoe repair. They usually only charge a couple of dollars which is about the cost of a can.
• I have only worn them primarily as an indoor shoe at my job but would not be opposed to protecting them with a waterproof shoe spray if I were to utilize them primarily as an outdoor hiking shoe.
• Just finished a five day backpack in the mountains of PA. They were great. I don't think its necessary to waterproof them. While they are not waterproof they stayed nevertheless fairly dry. (Actually, I don't mind if my feet get a little wet.)
• A strong amount of waterproofing spray *might* make them waterproof but these are highly breathable shoes. If you walk or run in wet conditions the water will get in at the toes very quickly (almost at the first step!). They "hold up" just fine in that the leather and soles can handle getting wet - but your feet will get wet and you'll need to dry the shoes later.

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN A MEN'S SIZE 11 D(M) AND 11 2E?
• Next to a size selection there is a link that says "size chart". Click on that and scroll all the way down to see what DM and 2E mean.
• I believe the (e) is a wider shoe
• D,2E designate the shoe width. go up in the alphabet and the shoe gets wider.
• D(M) stand for medium width and 2E for wide width.
• "D" is a medium width, and "2E" is a wide width. These run very true to size.
• The D (M) means medium and the 2E stands for 2 Wide.

QUESTION: HOW ARE THESE FOR WALKING ON ASPHALT/PAVEMENT FOR, SAY 5 - 15 MILES?
• obviously they'd work, but I'd much rather wear sneakers or something like that instead for pavement. these will be heavier and more stiff (more effort, less comfort).
• I took them on a 5 mile hike the first day I got them. I think they are going to be great shoes for the most part. My only complaint is that I got a hot spot on the inner portion of each heel. This may be due to the fact that I almost never wear shoes though, as I live in Hawaii.
• I would say if your looking to just walk on paved roads go with a cross trainer style sneaker. But if it's just to get to the next trail that's a different story these are a hiking style meant for more offroad purposes.
• I have only walked that far in them on trails so am not sure on hard pavement - sorry
• The shoes are very good shoes, I have had several pairs before. However, my most recent order, made in China are too short. I normally wear a 10.5 US but oredered an 11 just to be on the safe side. The 11 is still too short. I have kept them becsuse I can wear them around but do not use them for hiking, running or long distance walking.
#Merrell_Men's_Moab_Ventilator_Hiking

QUESTION: HOW WOULD THESE DO IN LESS THAN 6 INCHES OF SNOW?
• Your feet would get wet. You would probably be ok with 2 inches or less.
• Probably be fine because of the gore tx..without it probably soak thru
• The shoes are not made for snow
• Well for one these are a low top shoe so walking in 6" of snow would allow the snow to come over and in to these shoes. Also these are not waterproof. They make another version of these which are waterproof that would be better for walking in snow.
• I'm in Panama so I have no idea.
#Merrell_Men's

QUESTION: CAN I USE THESE FOR WORK SHOES? I STAND ON MY FEET MOST OF THE DAY.
• No. I bought them for that reason. I work 12 hour shifts. Really bad insoles. Don't. I had to buy another pair to wear.
• These shoes are durable and work well for hiking and walking. They offer strong support but I don't think IMHO that they would be soft enough for long standing in them. I am not at all a trained person in this area just my feeling. I use them if I know I'm going to be walking around etc but I honestly haven't spent many hours standing in once place.
• I am a teacher, and these shoes are the best I have found for my work. I also add a Dr. Scholls insert once the original inserts wear down (doesn't take me long to get to this point).
• Most comfortable shoes! If work atmosphere is casual, definitely.
• I wear these 7 days a week at work and home. They hold up very well and longer than equally priced athletic shoes
• These shoes are for hiking. If you walk around all day they would be perfect.
• These are designed for hiking and walking, therefore, they should be a good choice for standing at work.
#Moab_Ventilator_Hiking

QUESTION: I'M GOING TO WALK A VERY LONG DISTANCE (5 MONTHS),WITH A BACKPACK, I WILL WALK ON ROADS MORE THAN ON TRIALS. DO YOU THINK THAT IT IS THE GOOD CHOICE?
• A lot depends on your pack weight season and your preferences I think though that it will be a good choice I would recommend an insert to go with the ventilators
• While it is an excellent walking shoe it may be light for a backpacking trip particularly off road.
• I walk 2 miles a day in these shoes they are ideal for a long walk like that
#Merrell_Men's_Review

QUESTION: I HAVE HAD ONE PAIR OF MERRILLS AND THEY WERE TOO FLAT UP FRONT AND RUBBED THE TOPS OF MY TOES. ARE THEY ALL LIKE THAT?
• I have never had any problems AND I have a high instep.
• I have not had that problem with several different styles of merrills.
• I have not had this problem with my Merrells, but feet are so different from one person to the other. I believe that for sure footedness on the trail, most experienced hikers recommend against too much room in any part of the shoe, but if you are sensing the shoe against your toes it may not be a good design for you. You might try another pair and if you experience the same sensation try returning for yet another pair. I've done this before and due to the slight variations of mass produced products the second pair did not have the problem. It's an aggravating process, but Amazon's return/exchange policy makes it as easy as possible. If after two pairs you still have the same problem I'd recommend trying a different brand. Good luck!
• I find the shoes comfortable but all feet are different. I don't know what to answer really.
#Merrell_Men's_Moab_Ventilator_Hiking

QUESTION: THESE SHOES HAVE ARCH SUPPORT?
• They don't have much arch support. I use a pair of green super feet insoles.
• There is more arch support in these shoes compared to Schechers. I prefer more arch in my shoes and these seem to have what I sm looking for. I can be in my feet all day and my feet don't hurt like they do in a shoe with minimal support. I hope this helps.
• It's okay but I always replace the manufacturer's insole with Dr. Scholl's Sports insole for improved arch support.
#Merrell_Men's

QUESTION: ARE THESE SHOUES WATERPROOF?
• No they are not
• No. But Merrell does make a Moab Gortex Hiker that claims to be waterproof.
• I have not walked through water at the lake but when I mow the lawn and the dew is very heavy on the grass, the outside of the show gets very wet but not inside so at least partially. So, from my experience at a minimum to some degree. Like I said I have not walked into the lake.
• It's my understanding that they are made out of gore tex which is sort of waterproof but I believe it's good with surface water. I don't think you can submerge the shoe into water and it would be waterproof. Hope that helps.
• No, they are not waterproof.
• Ventilator, by default means ventilation...it allows air (and water) to move through the shoe. Shoes constructed with mesh will never be water-proof.
• No, however they dry out quickly.
• No. Water can penetrate the ventilated mesh. These shoes facilitate evaporation of sweat. I wore them for two weeks in Israel this summer and my feet stayed cool and dry. But I never stepped in so much as a puddle.
#Moab_Ventilator_Hiking

QUESTION: WHAT KIND OF LEATHER IS USED, THAT IS FROM WHAT TYPE OF ANIMAL IS IT? THANK YOU. IMAL? CAN IT BE FROM A PIG? THANK YOU
• It is more like suede than leather. I don't think it's from a pig, but if I had to guess, I'd say it is cow hide. I am anything but an expert in amimal hides.
• Soft pig suede.
• must you really be concerned with the type of animal that has been slaughtered in order for you to have a nice pair of footwear. It is best left unsaid, wouldn't you think?
#Merrell_Men's_Review

QUESTION: I WAS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING WITH A LITTLE MORE ANKLE SUPPORT. THESE DON'T APPEAR TO HAVE MUCH. OR DO THEY?
• They are low top shoes, so I'm not sure if that will give you what you need for ankle support. I find them to be very comfortable.
• Not particularly but I believe this is available as a boot as well.
• I don't have ankle problems but no, there's no ankle support.
• It's a great shoe but if you are looking for a shoe that also offers good ankle I would look further. This a really good general foot support. I would check further with Merrell and see if they offer a shoe that covers the ankle more. Good luck. I am a Merrill fan after using this shoe
• No, the one pictured does not, because it's a low cut shoe. If you want more ankle support, there are the Merrell Ventilator Mids.
• There is a different model with ankle support.
• These do not give much ankle support as they are a low-top. A high top shoe may give you more ankle support. Merrel Moab Ventilator and the Moab Earth both come in a high-top style.
#Merrell_Men's_Moab_Ventilator_Hiking

QUESTION: WILL THESE SHOES SUPPORT A 50 LB PACK?
• I think they would for an athletic person with sturdy feet and ankles. For a 50lb pack, most folks of normal build and strength would likely prefer a higher of a shoe with ankle support.
• It, of course would depend a great deal on how far you intended to carry the pack. For an extended trip, personally I would prefer a good fitting boot.
• sorry i don't know , i only use them for walking
• Absolutely
• Yes
#Merrell_Men's

QUESTION: ARE THESE WATERPROOF?
• No They have "ventilator" in their name because the breathe and keep you feet from sweating as you walk or hike. I do spray mine with a water repelant that helps a little, but if you step in a puddle of water you are going to get wet. There are other types of Merrells that offer that option.
• These are not waterproof. I've owned the waterproof ones but they didn't fit correctly and were uncomfortable. It's all I wear.
• Yes,they are
• No, they are well ventilated and allow good airflow and any water that you walk through comes in with it.
• No. These are just like the name implies, vented. I bought these because they are not waterproof. My feet need to breathe when hiking and they do just that...
• You can order them either way.
• No. Merrill does make other shoes that are waterproof (usually clearly labeled).
• These are not waterproof.
• Yes they are waterproof leather and mesh upper.
• They are Not waterproof at all. You can feel the ventilation on a chilly day.
#Moab_Ventilator_Hiking

QUESTION: HOW LONG ARE THE LACES FOR THESE SHOES? (I NEED TO BUY REPLACEMENT LACES - THEY DIDN'T HOLD UP WELL!)
• Laces are not too long and seem just right. Have not owned long enough to wear out. Complement look of shoe very well
• I measured mine and it came to 57 inches. I hate the laces that Merrell use on their shoes. They don't remain tied due to the slippery finish. Really agrevating to have the laces constantly coming untied.
#Merrell_Men's_Review

QUESTION: HOW DO YOU CLEAN THEM?
• Use a clean 6-8 inch bristle (plastic) DRY brush like the one you use for cleaning your bathtub, but make sure they are not too tough or stiff. Do not use soap or detergent since it will discolor the shoe. After that, use compressed air or something similar to remove the dirt or dust particle you just cleaned. When done, spray it with a high quality Silicone (water-proofing) spray and let dry outside or in the sun. This method will also give the leather or suede a new look.

QUESTION: CAN YOU FIX ORTHOTICS IN THESE SHOES? CAN YOU REMOVE THE INSERT THAT COMES WITH THE SHOE?
• Yes, the insert is removable. There is plenty of room to fit an orthotic in them.
• yes, I always use these Spencos Spenco Total Support Original Insole, Men's 12-13 in all of my shoes. Fits like a dream.
• Yes, you can remove the insert.
#Merrell_Men's

QUESTION: IS THIS GOOD FOR WALKING ON SNOWY TERRAINS?
• Yes but would not keep your feet dry or warm.. I would recommend the waterproof version of the shoe.
• I have used it for treks up in the glacier country of the South Island of New Zealand. It served me well.
• Hadn't snowed yet. However, soles look like they could handle snow. Also, these are no waterproof, so I don't know how much I'll use then in wet, snowy weather.
• These are excellent for walking or hiking, note these are ventilated so if your in the wet weather consider the same model in water tight. (Merrell Men's Moab Gore-Tex Waterproof Hiking Shoe and may want to consider the mid height ones)
• For walking on a snowy road it would be fine, the sole treads would work as effective as a winter tyre. However, the soft leather upper could get wet in snow or walking through puddles. Also, the feet could get cold in freezing weather.

QUESTION: J86595; MOAB VENTILATOR; WALNUT; NOIX;USA MEDIUM. ARE THESE WIDE?
• no they are medium
• I have wide feet and they fit me
• There are two options, wide & standard.
• No, not particularly. They aren't narrow either. I'd say just normal width.
• No, they are supposed to be medium, mine are a little tight.
• It list choice in wide and standard.
• Yes they are, that's the reason I got them

QUESTION: USUALLY SHOES DON'T COME IN 1/2 SIZE ABOVE 11, BUT I ACTUALLY NEED A 12.5M. ARE THESE A TRUE SIZE?
• I normally wear a size 10.5 but sometimes they are a little snug so I ordered a size 11. These shoes were also tight. I would suggest you order a size 13 to be safe.
• No, these shoes are smaller than they are sized. I would be very careful when buying, my recommendation is to buy larger and wider than you normally wear in a conventionally buy. If you need a 12, buy a 13. If you normally wear an EE width, get a EEEE width, otherwise you will be very disappointed - just as I am with my purchase.
• I got a 9.5 & my foot fits with a lil space on my big toe.
• I always buy size 9W in all my shoes. I purchased these at a Cabelas store 3 years ago in 9 2E and they fit perfect. I would be careful in ordering one size too big as it may not work for you.
#Merrell_Men's_Moab_Ventilator_Hiking

QUESTION: WOULD THESE BE GOOD FOR TRAVELING IN THAILAND?
• These are a GREAT trial hiking shoe.. I would buy the All Out Blaze Sport from Merrell - They are a little lighter and more nimbal for traveling.,,
• Yes, these shoes would be great for any kind of hiking or walking, a great travelers shoe.
• These shoes would be comfortable for doing all day walking and could handle any terrain.

QUESTION: I HAVE A NARROW FOOT MEN'S C. WILL THIS SHOE FIT?
• it might fit a narrow foot my grandson has a med width and they are tight on him hurt side of left foot
• I think the med width ay be ok you may need to add an insole unless the offer it in narrow width size
• My purchase was for 11 wide. Really can't answer that.
• I wear a 12ee and was apprehensive the first time I ordered from Merrill. I needn't have worried they fit fine so my guess is if c width is your normal it will fit. if iti is not right send it back and try again, believe me, they are worth it.
• I have a pretty narrow foot. With thin socks the shoe is not as tight as I would like, but with a good sport sock it is a good fit
• I am very sorry, every shoe runs a little different. It is 1/4 of an inch narrow than what you would find in stores.
• Yes it fits nice and snug
#Moab_Ventilator_Hiking

QUESTION: WATERPROOF LEATHER?
• Looks like suede and ventilator webbing
• No these are a lighter weight hiker with ventilation panels made of breathable fabric. Smaller areas of leather so not water proof. They make an all leather water resistant hiker.
• No the leather is not waterproof.
• no, the shoe is not waterproof, they make one that is, not sure it comes in wide.

QUESTION: BECAUSE THESE SHOES ARE VENTED, THEY WILL NOT STINK (AS MUCH) IF WEARING THEM FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. TRUE OR FALSE?
• Mine stink after hard wear. They can be washed.
• True. They are awesome shoes. And I do some serious hiking.
• they keep my feet from sweating, but if you got some funk, that stinks like a skunk. soak those puppies in rubbing alcohol for at least a minute then lotion.
• I have worn these shoes for many hours camping and hiking. They do not seem to be predisposed to retaining excessive odor.
• I wear them for 12 to 16 hours a day. I love my shoes.
• Lol! C'mon, really?! Do you take the lid off of a pot that's steaming too much from the stovetop?? Let's answer our own question here!

QUESTION: THERE ARE 2 SIZE 9 TYPES, 9D(M) AND 9 2E, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? I AM LOOKING FOR A 9 WIDE.
• 2E is the only wide option in these Merrill shoes. My husband wears a 10 wide. Or a 10 2E in these
• To the best of my knowledge the 2e is the wide size.

QUESTION: I HIKE ON SAND DUNES. DO YOU THINK THIS SHOE WOULD KEEP SAND OUT? I HAVE HIKED IN GORE-TEX WITH NO PROBLEM BUT THINK THESE MIGHT BE COOLER.
• No I don't think they will work in deep sand
• Not sure I work in emergency services in fl and use these for work where I'm on my feet for 48 hours shifts and they great for comfort. Can't answer on the sand
• Actually if your talking about infiltration through the sides of the shoes they may in fact work...I was referring to sand coming over the top of the sides...
• ! really cant say i usually always get stuff in my shoes when i go on hiking/back packing trips so its never been a concern to me. I'm also using these as regular everyday shoes
• How would Gore Tex keep sand out of a shoe any more than a regular pair of low cut moabs? You probably need the mid top version
#Moab_Ventilator_Hiking

QUESTION: ARE THESE WATERPROOF?
• This version is not, but there is a gore-tex version.
• They are not water proof but offer excellent water resistance. I have been using them for quite some time now.
• Nope they are not. Good summer shoe for dry conditions.
• They are ventilated, cool shoes. Check the description, and details, I wouldn't think they are for wet usage.

QUESTION: TRUE SIZE?
• Not for me. I wear an 11 in my asics running shoes. I need a half size larger in these.
• yes
• I have found them to run a half to a full size small. I generally wear 9d but buy 10d in the moab.
• I normally wear a 11, I had to order a 11.5. I read on several reviews that Merrell run about 0.5 size small so you need to use your normal size and add between 0.5 to 1.0. It was true as they compare to what I normally wear, Nike's.
• I believe so. Mine DO FIT LIKE A GLOVE (w/liner socks) and I love them. Bought a second pair.
• For me it's not as small as others said, I measured my size in show store and my size should be 10, and I ordered 10 for this. I found there are at least near 1 cm extra space for my foot. And has more room compared to my same size Nike lunar glide

QUESTION: WHAT COLOR IS "WALNUT" IN THE MEN'S MERRELL MOAB VENTILATOR HIKING SHOE? IT LOOKS "GREY" ON THE PAGE BUT "WALNUT" SEEMS LIKE IT WOULD BE CLOSER TO TAN
• Its a bit more taupe color, not real true grey. It's very neutral. Goes with anything really.
• Not sure about the picture, but the actual color is brown on the shoe.
#Merrell_Men's

QUESTION: I THINK OF WALNUT AS BROWN. IS THIS WALNUT COLOR GRAY, TAN, OR A GRAYISH BROWN-TAN?
• The shoe labeled "walnut" looks exactly like its associated picture on the Amazon product page.
• grayish brown
• Best answer lies in the picture of the shoe...
• Thank you for your inquiry, in reviewing the photos of this item i have determined that the color is best described as a dark greyish-brown. I hope this sufficiently answers your question. Thank you and have a great day.
• I dont know. Mine is granite lantern color.
• Grayish brownish
• Grayish brownish
• grayish brown
• I took at good look at this shoe in person, and I would call it gray with mossy green tones. When I held it next to brown, it definitely looked gray. When I held it next to gray, it looked greenish.

QUESTION: DO THEY DRY QUICKLY
• yes they do. ive hikes for miles and they were damp inside but fully dried in about an hour. removing the insole helped too
• They dry fairly quickly from day to day wetness but if you soak them completely then it might take a while
• I only got them wet once but yes. Also this was a canyon in AZ.

QUESTION: I NEED A EXTRA WIIDE, VERY SECURE HEEL AND WELL VENTILATED SHOE WILL THIS WORK?
• yes
• These only come in single wide . Hope this helps
• They offer them in EE... I'm a D and I don't find them narrow... Heel area is very rigid - I get no slipping... This shoe breathes very well - I wore them in Kandahar, Afghanistan at temperatures up to 140 degrees... Give them a try! The best thing about Amazon is the incredible return policy! I'm on my third pair and I order them 1/2 size larger than I usually take - just my experience with this shoe.
• I am no expert William but ventilation seems sufficient heel is snug and padded for comfort Great arch control too, I think they have an e width but shoe fits true to size for me
• Hi William, this shoe will be great for you!

QUESTION: WOULD THIS SHOE BE GOOD FOR TOUGH MUDDER?
• This is my husband's shoe but he wears this all over our country property - just like all the Merrell shoes we've had that are really comfortable and super comfortable - so I think the answer is a resounding Yes. Good luck with your Tough Mudder event!

• hmmm...I not too sure it would be. seems good for hiking in heat
• This is a top pick for U.S. forces and Contractors when deployed to some of the harsh environments around the world. Do your research before taking someone else's word though.

QUESTION: ARE THESE SLICK ON WET SURFACES
• No great grip, deep grooves
• I don't know. However my son-in-law wears them when he inspects roofs because of the traction they have.
• I haven't done any rock walking with these, but they are very stable and fit very well and true to size
• Not in my experience... but it really depends on the surface. I've walked on wet rocks, sidewalks, trails, etc. and haven't noticed much slipping. Hope this helps. I love these shoes - working on my second pair.
• They do not seen to be, no. Now have not climbed a rock face in a cyclone with them on but generally, not slick.
• Daz I'm sorry that I can't answer your question as though it is now winter in Chicago I don't plan on wearing these outside until The Spring.

QUESTION: I AM LOOKING FOR A SHOE FOR HIKING AND TRAIL RUNNING. ARE THESE SHOES GOOD FOR TRAIL RUNNING AS WELL?
• While you could probably run in these, I'd say they are a little bulky/heavy for that. I'd check out a trail running sneaker if main purpose is running. Great hiking and everyday shoe though.
• I don't know if I'd put these in the trail running category. They don't have the bounce of real running shoes. If you are looking for comfort and traction, these shoes fit that. The sizes they offer are outstanding also, as good as a boot maker.
• I agree with the other responders, this shoe is not in a running category, trail walking/hiking maybe light backpacking.
• I can't speak to the running but everything else ...excellent

QUESTION: ARE THESE SHOES SUITABLE FOR STANDING ALL DAY IN A KITCHEN?
• Yes, defiantly! You know how I know, because I'm a chef, although there's no standing for me, I mostly run around the kitchen all day!
• I have worn a pair of them for over a year working on concrete floors; I believe will find them suitable for standing in all day.
• I used to get sore feet after just a few hours of standing. These shoes are pretty supportive so I feel that I can stand for much longer in these than most other shoes I've owned.
• I am a massage therapist and I also stand all day. I LOVE the fact that they are ventilated so my feet don't get too hot. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned.

#Merrell_Men's_Review

QUESTION: DO THEY HAVE A GOOD ARCH SUPPORT?
• Bought them for just that reason...on my feet 8 hrs a day at work. Use a slip-in arch support also. Shoe has good support but usually switch out every 6 months for maximum support. Shoes are still in excellent condition after 6 months and I donate to local thrift store.
• Not really. You can get additional arch supports from a shoe store or online.

• Yes They do for me . but you may want to go to Dicks sporting goods or Bass pro shop and try a pair on to see if there is enough support for you
• modest support. If you want more you'll need an insert (like one of those super-green ones)

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 11-5 D/M VS. 11.5 2E SIZES?
• The M is a medium width and the 2E is a wide width
• The 11.5 d/m or (11.5 d and 11.5 m) are medium width, where 11.5 2E is a wide width.
#Merrell_Men's

QUESTION: I WOULD LIKE TO ORDER US 10.5 REGULAR WIDTH. I SEE "10.5 D(M) US" AND "10.5 2E US". WHICH SHOULD I ORDER?
• The D(M) is regular width.
• Order the D (M) width, but be careful from my experience they run a size small. I wear a size 11 usually but wear a size 12 in this shoe and it fits great.
• My understanding is D is medium width and 2E is a double wide fit. The D fit my teenage son well who has average size feet. If you google the question on USA shoe width it can give you some ideas on the width but does vary somewhat between manufactures.
• US 10.5 D(M) is regular width
• I would go with the 10.5 D(m). The shoes run a little small.
• D(M)

QUESTION: WOULD THESE BE FAIRLY SOAKED IN CONSTANT RAIN? CAN THEY BE WATERPROOFED?
• I have not worn them in a constant rain, but read some reviews saying they were fairly water resistant. I would call Merrell about whether or not they can be waterproofed.
• They would be soaked in constant rain, they are not gortex.
• Yes they would get wet and with the ventilation your socks and feet would get wet. When they do get wet they also dry out fairly quickly. With all the ventilation and drains I can't see waterproofing them.
• Merrell offers both their own waterproof version and a GORE TEX version. Or you coulld purchase a can of silicone type waterproofing spray for footwear

QUESTION: DO THE MERRELL MOAB RUN NARROW AS WELL AS A 1/2 SIZE SMALL.
• No, I would say they are normal to slightly wide, more like a running shoe.
• I'm a big guy. 6'1, 240LBS. I got size 11, normal width. It was dead on. A little 'tight' but I was wearing shoes that were literally falling apart. If you've got those, then ANY shoe will feel tight. For me, these were dead on. I went hiking the very afternoon I got them with zero discomfort.
• A little narrow and a little small in size but not a full 1/2 size small.
• First pair was slightly narrow but expanded after just 2 weeks of wear.It was the perfect size. 2nd pair fit perfectly; not narrow or a size too small.

• Water resistant
• No.

QUESTION: WHERE ARE THEY MADE?
• From what I understand, Asia, of course, UK, USA, Canada, and Scandinavia. The company has been bought and sold several times and grown each time. They have a wide array of footwear and continue their growth. Evidently they have been able to expand their lines, bring pricing down dramatically from what it originally was, and maintain a high level of quality. I have had many pairs of this shoe and my last set just wore out after over 800 miles of hiking this past year alone. I believe I got them too wet too many times, but then why do I need an excuse. 800+ miles would do any pair in I suppose.

QUESTION: IS THIS WATERPROOF?
• No
• No, If you want waterproof I would search for: merrel moab waterproof, when I bought mine a month ago, only the mid boot was available, it looks like they have some shoes too. I love the mid boot though. The ventillators fit a bit narrow, and the ball of the foot padding area is wierd because of the ventilator holes.
• yes. I haven't waded in water yet, but it rained buckets last night and the only thing that stayed dry was my feet. The outside of the shoes was obviously wet, but not the inside.
• There is a version of this shoe that is waterproof, but the one I ordered is not.
