QUESTION: CAN THIS BE WASHED BY HAND? AS IN, CAN YOU FIT YOUR WHOLE HAND AND SPONGE ALL THE WAY INTO THE BOTTOM TO SCRUB?
• No, sorry the opening is only a little more than 2" big. I use a dish washing brush or a bottle cleaner.
• No. It is too narrow to fit your hand/wrist/arm all the way in there. You would need a bottle scrubber to get to the bottom.
• No. You'd need a brush. For reference I'm a 5'2" woman with average size hands. If you have especially small hands you could probably fit your hands in the bottle for washing, otherwise you'd need a brush. I wouldn't recommend this bottle for putting ice in it. There is just too much condensation build up on the outside. Tons of water drip down the bottle and end up on my couch. (I'm pregnant and on bedrest).
• This bottle is too narrow for most people's hands to fit inside to scrub it by hand.
• yes you can wash this bottle with hand and easily put sponge inside and move and scrub it but your "WHOLE HAND "can't go inside.
• REVISED: To clarify;YES I CAN REACH IN ENOUGH TO FIT MOST OF MY HAND IN AND THE WASH SPONGE OR CLOTH REACHES THE BOTTOM. I CAN'T PUT MY WHOLE FIST IN THE BOTTLE. Original answer:Yes, my hand fits but I don't think a man's hand would fit. I purchased a good bottle brush as well. I feel it does a better job. I don't like the scratchy cheap kind most people use on baby bottles. I suggest a good quality brush that dries and won't get mildew. Make sure you can disinfect the brush as well.I love this bottle. By the way, if you have a small car in my case a Hyundai Accent, with really small cup holders you might not be able to fit this in the cup holder. I can fit it in my cup holder between the seats but not the one by the stick shift, although I do have a neoprene case on mine. It barely fits if I take the case off but I like that the case keeps my water cold longer and controls condensation. This is by far the best water bottle I have ever had. I never leaks(Un less you are stupid and forget to check the cover hasn't loosened after being hung from your bag all day and swinging around. Lesson learned!) and you can freeze it, it's easy to clean etc...
• no - not unless you have a very small hand
• No you can't fit your hand in the bottle to clean it. You can force a sponge in and move it around with a wooden spoon or get a sponge on a stick that is meant for cleaning bottles.

QUESTION: CAN YOU PUT THIS WATER BOTTLE IN THE FREEZER
• Why would you want to do that? I suppose you could, but the water will expand.
• yes, and in a dishwasher also
• Yes provided you leave a reasonable sized air pocket to allow for the ice expansion. The material are all fine at the low temp - but watch your lips sticking on the plastic spout if you go in too soon. I've found these bottle really good all round.

QUESTION: NALGENE ON THE FLY WATER BOTTLE- CAUTION - CHOKING HAZARD. PLASTIC PIECE IN CAP FALL INTO MOUTH OF BOTTLE. HAVE OTHERS HAD A PROBLEM?
• Yes, I've had the seal piece fall off into the bottle several times. I own six of them. My friend was using it and when emptying the contents the piece went down the drain. Bummer. I'm trying to find out how to order more of those tops. They come off regularly when elevation changes and pressure builds up. Still the best bottle I've ever had though.
• We have 3 of these water bottles. Two of them have this problem where the white stopper gets sucked into the bottle. It only happens when we use ice in the bottle. I have contacted Nalgene and they were kind and sent out replacement caps, but the problem exists on the new caps, too.
• has not happened to me yet
• I've never had the plastic piece fall off, however one time when I filled the bottle with ice cold water and the melting ice created a vacuum that sucked the plastic piece inside. That's only happened once though and seems more like the fault of physics/chemistry than Nalgene.
• We use these bottles all day every day, in the house and office. We even place them in the top shelf of the dishwasher and have never had this problem before. I would return it and ask the Amazon or Nalgene to provide a replacement. I am sure it is just a defective bottle. Good luck
• I have not had this happen with nearly daily use for 2+ years. Which piece are you referring to? The piece that creates the water tight seal? The latch? Either way, I'd try to return it since the piece is probably integral to the bottle's functionality.
• Nope, I've had mine for a year now, jog with it and everything and haven't had any issues. It's my favorite bottle because it's designed so well.
• I've never had that problem; in fact, these are the only Nalgenes I buy now because of the top- I love the fact that the mouthpiece is covered and that they never leak. Yours must have been a lemon!
• Own two of them and did not have problem. Love this water bottle.

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE DIAMETER OF THE DRINKING SPOUT?
• The external diameter of the drinking spout on the OTF cap is approximately one inch.
• I measured it with a tape measure. However the tip of the spout has a rounded lip which protrudes from the body of the spout slightly. Now I just used calipers and the external measurement of the spout body is 31mm,(one inch is 32mm). 7/8th's of an inch would be about 27mm

QUESTION: HOW HARD OR EASY IS IT TO OPEN OR CLOSE? CAN AN OLDER PERSON WHO HAS TROUBLE WITH THEIR HANDS OPEN AND CLOSE IT?
• It's very easy to open! Just flip down the metal clip and press the release button and it's done! Doesn't require a lot of pressure to open. However, someone who has difficulty with their hands may have a hard time closing it. I imagine someone in that situation could successfully close the bottle by pressing down firmly with the palm of the hand rather than attempting to close it with pressure from the fingers.
• I do not have trouble with my hands - I had challenges with opening AND closing this bottle. My mother used the bottle for a couple days and also found it to be difficult.
• I find it very easy to open and close. Only a very small amount of force is needed to press the button and open it, yet it still doesn't ever come open and spill! A bit more force is needed to press it closed, but still not a lot. It is also slightly more difficult to open and close with one hand, although very doable (which is very convenient when on the road driving or walking around). With two hands opening and closing is a breeze. I love this water bottle - it truly is perfect for on the fly and very convenient and durable :) So to answer your question, it is pretty easy to open and close :)
• I am an older person. It is easy to open as all you have to is take your finger and flip open the clip at the bottom, nearer the bottle itself. To close, just press and hold it. I have problems with my hands, but do this easily.
• I would say no way. Not recommended. It's spilled if not closed properly.
#Nalgene_On_The_Fly_Water

QUESTION: DOES IT SWEAT?
• I've not had any problems with sweating.
• I haven't really noticed any sweat from it
• Not very much, obviously anything will sweat if you have a cold drink in a hot place, that's just how things work. Most of the time though I've found this one just gets sort of foggy on the outside rather than sweat very much.
• Yes, it does swear some. It is not insulated.
• Yes it does
#Nalgene_On

QUESTION: IS IT WATER TIGHT?
• Definitely. I carry mine in my tote bag w/ my computer all the time.
• yes, with the latch on. i throw it in my bag all the time. i love this water bottle.
• Absolutely water tight. Nalgene makes one of the best water bottles on the market. And its made in U.S.A.
• Yes. I've never had any problems with it leaking. It snaps shut when you press the lid down, and the metal hook that goes over the closure gives it some extra security so it won't come open in a bag or on the go.
• It is wonderfully water-tight! I actually dropped mine on concrete a week ago and panicked that it would break. It hadn't and there isn't a single crack. I can't even see where it may have impacted. I hope this helps.
• Yes. Water is absolutely tight.
• Yes it is water tight, I keep mine locked and use it daily.
• It is BUT make sure you have the metal loop holding the top closed! I find the plastic latch doesn't always close securely (learned the hard way, half a bottle of water in the bottom of my waterproof bag), but once the metal loop is hooked, it doesn't budge.

QUESTION: I WANT TO USE THIS WITH A GSI H2JO. IS THE MOUTH ON THE OTF THE SIZE FOR THE 32 OZ NALGENE, OR THE SMALLER "WIDE MOUTH" OF THE 16 OZ NALGENE?
• It is the smaller size. Not the full 32 Oz width
• The size of a 16 oz wide mouth, is similar to this one.
• It's smaller about the size of quarter. It's a great bottle if you like a smaller opening. It does sweat if using ice. I got a holder.
#Nalgene_On_Review

QUESTION: DOES IT LEAK IF IT'S ON ITS SIDE OR TURNED UPSIDE DOWN?
• Nope! That puppy is sealed super tight! Best water bottle ever. Love it!
• I bought this one specifically because it stated leakproof as it's most popular feature. I had another for about 1 year which I occasionally used, then it started leaking. This one I put in my pocketbook without a worry,
• As long as the rubber stopper is in place and the latch is locked, this bottle has not yet had any leaking issues. On the other hand, if you put in iced beverages, you might worry about the condensation on the outside.
• nope! my kids have been taking them to school in their bookbags and tossing them in the car and AS LONG AS THEY ARE LATCHED, they don't leak AT ALL!
• No it doesn't leak. I have had this water bottle on its side in the same bag as my laptop - no issues.
• It leaks when it's on its side.
• Mine leaked when I turned it upside down.
• My bottle is defective, so it leaks even when it is on the side. The locking mechanism doesn't work at all
#Nalgene_On_The_Fly_Water

QUESTION: MINE CAME WITH A PLASTIC WRAPPER WITH WRITING THAT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT COMES OFF EASILY. IT IS SUPPOSED TO COME OFF, RIGHT?
• Yup, take it off if you want to. I did. No harm done.
• My OTF came with a "tight / crunchy" plastic wrapping........Remove the wrapping. I think it is there to keep the body of the bottle looking "pretty & perfect" until it is sold.
#Nalgene_On

QUESTION: IS THIS 20OZ OR 24OZ? THE PRODUCT PAGE SAYS 'SIZE: 20OZ' ON TOP BUT THEN RIGHT BELOW IT, IT SAYS 24OZ.
• It's 650 mL which is about 22 ounces. Maybe if the bottle is filled as full as it can possibly be, it's 24 ounces, but just barely.
• The numbers on the bottle go up to 20 oz or 650 ml.
• There are measurement lines on the side of it and the 20 ounce line is the last measurement and is about an inch or so from the top. So if you filled it all the way up (like I'll just fill it up through the drinking hole) it is probably 24 ounces.
• The markings stop at the 20oz mark but you could fit 24oz in it.
• The scale (markings) on the side of the bottle only go to 20oz, but the bottle itself will hold 24oz (there is about 3/4 to 1 inch of space above the highest marking).
• It states on the bottom of the bottle 650 ml which equals 21.98 ozs. so I guess it is in the middle. I also bought an insulating sleeve from Amazon Nalgene OTG Bottle Sleeve (Gray) that insulates perfect for $12.72 with Prime.
#The_Fly_Water

QUESTION: THIS SAYS THE PRICE STARTS AT $5.07 BUT I HAVE GONE THOUGH ALL COLOR OPTIONS AND CANNOT FIND THAT PRICE. WHICH STYLE/SIZE IS OFFERED AT THAT PRICE?
• It's probably a used item or an item that is no longer available.
• Not for sure which colors are offered at that price but I can tell you we thoroughly enjoy this product. We go to the beach every weekend and this is what we use
#Nalgene_On_Review

QUESTION: HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE SILICONE STOPPER GROWING MOLD WITHIN IT?
• No, I've only had mine about 3-4 months, but I use them every day. In addition to hand washing, I run them through the dishwasher once a week on a 'sanitize' cycle.
• No. I have had them for a few months and have been washing them either by hand or in the dishwasher. No mold problem so far
• Yes!! After about a year of use. I've tried scrubbing it clean, but it still has black discoloration. Any ideas about how to resolve this?
• yes and unable to clean it off . I've had the bottle a few years . I also noticed the that the clear bottom part is no longer clear . I don't believe that there were any instructions on cleaning the product . I have used a baby bottle brush , believe it left fine scratches and these areas grew some kind of mold also . I did buy another because I like the design , the one handed use . I think you just need to replace every so often .
#Nalgene_On_The_Fly_Water

QUESTION: IS THERE ANY GASKET RING BETWEEN THE BODY AND THE CLOSURE?
• No, there's no gasket between the bottle and the cap, just a recess that the bottle fits snugly into. It's water tight.
• no there isn't
• I double checked and there isn't, but it does create a water tight seal.
• There isn't one. I haven't had any issues with leaking either
• I am not sure. Doug
#Nalgene_On

QUESTION: HOW FRAGILE IS IT?
• Awful, feels cheap
• Nalgene water bottles are historically very durable and this one is no exception. They were made to withstand falls from high places against hard surfaces for rock climbing.
• It is very strong
• It's bulletproof. The only design or material shortcoming is the silicone seal in the top cap..they have a tendency to come detached if a relative vaccuum forms inside the bottle due to an altitude decrease or if you add ice to the bottle. Simple to pop to the seal back into place if that happens, although we have lost one of them, then you have to buy a whole cap as a replacement.
• We have 3 of these. 2 have lasted really well and 1, the latch broke so every time it falls over it pops open. I still use it though because it has the metal latch to secure the lid - I just make sure to use that every time otherwise it won't stay closed
#The_Fly_Water

QUESTION: IS THIS BFA FREE?
• yes its BPA free , if thats what you mean.
• WELL Sort of good news. Its made in the USA and it says right on the bottom of the bottle it is BPA free. IT also has recycle no# 7 if that helps at all. I'm not sure what BFA is... Hope this helps.
• The bottle that I have has a "BPA Free" label on the bottom of it. Hope this helps.
#Nalgene_On_Review

QUESTION: HOW BIG IS "ONE SIZE?"
• Good question. I had to look at the listing, and it's strangely written. Apparently "One Size" is the only size. Copied this from another answer about the size: "The scale (markings) on the side of the bottle only go to 20oz, but the bottle itself will hold 24oz (there is about 3/4 to 1 inch of space above the highest marking)."
• I don't what you mean by "one size", but it holds about 22 ounces. I was actually happier with the Tervis Water Bottle that I also bought. It has a double wall that helps control sweating and keeps ice longer than the Nalgene one. I would measure the Nalgene one but put it away since is only use the Tervis water bottle now. $19.52
• 20 oz. if you fill it to the top measured line. (It has measurement lines that go up the side.) 24 oz. if you fill it all the way to the lid.
#Nalgene_On_The_Fly_Water

QUESTION: HOW TALL IS THIS BOTTLE FROM BOTTOM TO TOP OF CAP?
• Hi, the bottle is approximately 9 1/2 inches tall. If you would like me to take a picture of the bottle next to a ruller, just send me your email address. Hope this helps and my review can be found at the bellow url...thanks! http://insearchoftheperfectwaterbottle.com/nalgene-fly-water-bottle/
• 9 inch
#Nalgene_On

QUESTION: HOW DO YOU CLEAN THE MOLD?
• Sounds like a sarcastic question to me? Mine has not gotten moldy. Where is the mold?Try using a bottle brush to scrub and maybe soak in hot soapy water first. If that doesn't work use a apple vinegar soak first then scrub.
• I haven't experienced any mold. I only use my green bottles for Zija drinks, the clear and blue I ONLY carry water in. I make sure that I run them through the dishwasher at least two times a week. I hope that helps. If you have mold, I'd suggest spraying it out with hydrogen peroxide. The rubber seal in the cap will come out, if you need to clean deep.
• You don't. You clean it daily to avoid mold.
• you can use bleach and then rinse well and let dry, however a helpful habit I've had to develop with all of these types of items is taking lid off daily to clean and let air-dry. no mas problemas!
#The_Fly_Water

QUESTION: WILL THIS BOTTLE FIT IN A CAR CUP HOLDER?
• Yes it will
• It fits in the cup holders in both my car and my husband's car.
• Yes. Fits perfectly in my Passat and 4Runner cup holders. Buy this - I love it - take it everywhere I go.
• Yes, it is the same diameter as an average coffee travel mug.
• Yes, it will
#Nalgene_On_Review

QUESTION: DOES THE TOP CAP SWING OPEN OFF A SPRING IF YOU PRESS A BOTTON?
• it "unlocks" basically
• It just unclips then you lift it up there is no spring inside.
• Not exactly. Press the bottom on the front to release the cap it does jump up from the rebound of the silicon seal. The lid is easily swung back with one finger to drink from the spout. It is very easy to use one handed! I use it regularly in the car and on the run. This is the best most robust and easiest to use bottle I have had. In fact I have two for myself, two for my soccer playing daughter and one for the wife! Great bottle.
• I'm not sure if there is a spring inside or not, but when you press the button, the top does pop open maybe an inch or two. After it pops open, you do have to manually swing the arm/top open the rest of the way to drink.
#Nalgene_On_The_Fly_Water

QUESTION: HOW TALL IS THE BOTTLE WITHOUT THE CAP ON IT? I'M LOOKING FOR ONE THAT WILL FIT UNDER MY ICE/WATER DISPENSER IN MY FRIDGE, AND IT HAS TO BE UNDER 9"
• 12-13 inches I think w/o cover
• I would recommend using the Nalgene Kids On the Fly. Size with out cap under 6 inches with cap little over 7 inches.
#Nalgene_On

QUESTION: WHERE CAN ONE FIND REPLACEMENT SEALS FOR THE OTF LID?
• IIRC, Nalgene has lifetime warranties on their bottles, so if yours is leaking, they may send you a replacement lid for free. Can't hurt to ask them about it.
• You have to buy a whole new lid. The lid on this is made in China and is not nearly as good as the lids they make in USA. (The China lids leak). I would stick with a Nalgene lid that is made in USA....They do not leak.
• Don't know the answer. I can say this; I owned an older model Nalgene water bottle for 5 years or so and never had any problems with it's seals, and I would still be using it had I not left it in a motel room last year.
• I haven't seen anything on the seals, but you can buy the whole lid at Nalgene.com for $7. Wish I could be of more help, but that's all I have been able to find.
#The_Fly_Water

QUESTION: DOES IT FIT IN A CAR CUP HOLDER?
• Yes. Not a problem.
• It fits in all of my cup holders just fine. It's about the same circumference as a pop can.
• Yes, this will fit in a standard car cup holder.
• Yes. Might look at others too. The plastic clip that holds the lid closed broke in the first month.
#Nalgene_On_Review

QUESTION: WILL THE OTF LID FIT OTHER NALGENE BOTTLES? ARE ALL THE TOPS INTERCHANGEABLE?
• I found that the OTF lid will fit at least the OTG bottle. As far as other nalgene bottles go, I'm not sure. But the tops are definitely interchangeable between OTF and OTG bottles!
• I don't own other nalgene bottles, but the typical nalgene bottle (in my head at least) is much shorter and fatter, so this lid would likely be too small. This bottle is taller and skinnier, which I liked because it fit into the side pocket of my backpack better, but I don't think they're interchangeable.
• I know Nalgene and REI make a water bottle with this same design but different size and the lids both fit each other. Sorry, that's all I know. I suggest calling REI or Nalgene for a better answer.
#Nalgene_On_The_Fly_Water

QUESTION: ARE OZ OR ML MARKED ON THE BOTTLE?
• Yes, both are. 150 to 650 ml, marks at each 50ml, and 4 to 20 oz, marks at each 2 oz. Every other mark for each is labeled.
• Yes, it has both :)
• Yes, both are marked. 650 mL and 20 oz (marked incrementally up the side).
• Oz's & ml's are marked on the bottle.
#Nalgene_On

QUESTION: IS THERE A PLASTIC/RUBBER/SILICONE GASKET INSIDE THE TOP?
• Not on the large lid. It is just screws on plastic to plastic, but I keep one in my satchel and have never had it leak. There is rubber under the flip-top part that the metal hinge keeps closed. I guess that is what keeps water leaking from that part when it is closed. It pops up when unhinged so that you can drink through the wide spout.
• There isn't one between the lid and the bottle. How there is a rubber stopper in the lid that that swings up away from the rest of the lid.
• yes
• Yes, some sort of clear hard rubber. It is quite robust and seals leak tight when clicked shut. Recommend using metal lock tab to prevent it popping open in your bag. Works great.
• Nope
#The_Fly_Water

QUESTION: HAS ANYONE GOTTEN THE PINK ONE? THE PICTURED ITEM DOESN'T LOOK PINK, BUT PERHAPS THE SHIPPED ITEM IS?
• yes, i have the pink/beet one. It's two tone, a more traditional, lighter pink and a darker, orangey red pink, if that makes any sense :)
• No
• No
• No

QUESTION: CAN IT BE CARRIED IN CARRYON BAG?
• Yes, the size is perfect!
• If you are talking about in an airport, then the answer is not if it is full of liquids. If it is empty, it's probably fine. It's a great bottle and is very convenient to carry with you in just about any bag.
• If you mean on an airplane I guess that would depend on whichever reg is in place at this time.
• Sure. I carry mine in my backpack. It also has a slot for it to be clipped on too.
• If it's empty you can. They won't let you have more than 3oz in any carry on container. I just take empty through security and then fill it. I'm sure it will fit in your carry on bag if you provide room for it.
• Yes, as long as it is empty when you try to clear security.
#Nalgene_On_The_Fly_Water

QUESTION: WHAT PLASTIC RECYCLE NUMBER IS THE TOP AND THE BOTTLE? THANKS!
• There is a 7 on the bottle; I saw no recycle number on the cap.
• 7 on the bottle. I'm not seeing one on the lid.
• Hi Sharon! It's a seven.
• It is a 7 but is is BPA free.
• The cap is #5

QUESTION: DOES THE BOTTLE SWEAT - TRYING TO FIND ONE FOR KIDS BACKPACKS
• It'll condensate with cold water, as any bottle. But i havent noticed anything else.
• Yes, unfortunately it does sweat.
• I've been filling it with cold water for a few months and haven't really noticed much in the way of condensation. However MAKE SURE you flip the security latch. If the button is accidentally pressed, the bottle will open. The latch locks the button tight, however. I throw it in my bag all the time and no leaks when it's locked. If you think your kid will forget to lock it, then I wouldn't get this model.
• Yes, I've never found one that didn't!
• Yes.. I think it does.. but don't remember it being an issue so it must have not been that bad.
#The_Fly_Water

QUESTION: DOES IT FIT INTO CAR CUPHOLDER
• No not any of mine. Maybe one of the types that's just a ring or bigger ones in a truck
• In my truck it fits great but my cup holder is kinda big. I have a Chevy s 10
• yes. This thing is a great water bottle. Get it!

QUESTION: NEWBIE? #3: THUMB-LOOP- FOR 20 ML. HIKES- REALLY WANT TO MAKE SURE OF COMFORT LOOPED ON ANY FINGER @ ALL CARRYING ANGLES / POSITIONS, PLEASE?
• It's pretty comfortable, I've carried it on various fingers, but would not want to carry the whole time on a 20 mile hike. Would probably hook it on a carabiner to a strap or belt loop if no other way to carry it on that long of a hike.
• The loop for your finger is smooth and made of rubber, I haven't had a problem with this bottle, been my favorite bottle for a few years now. I like it better than the other On the Go bottle that Nalgene makes as that one has a smaller loop and is harder to open with one hand. The main problem I have is losing this bottle, have lost it 4 times thus far!
#Nalgene_On_The_Fly_Water

QUESTION: I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND WHAT COUNTRY THIS IS MADE IN. DOES ANYONE KNOW?THANKS!
• Usa, luv mine
• It's made in the USA
• Footnote, saw that the cap is made in china!
• bottle is made in Rochester, NY, cap assembly made in China
#Nalgene_On

QUESTION: WHEN FULL OF LIQUID, CAN THE BOTTLE BE CARRIED BY THE LOOP WITHOUT THE METAL LATCH ENGAGED, OR DOES THE METAL LATCH NEED TO BE LOCKED TO SAFELY CARRY?
• You would definitely need to have the metal latch engaged to prevent it from popping open.
• It can be carried by the loop, I rarely use the metal latch.
• Yes, as long as it is latched. The metal latch is an extra safety...
• I try to lock the metal latch if I remember, it makes it safer if you drop it, but usually forget, I carry it all the time without it being latched. BTW I just love this bottle, it is sturdy, durable, and so much better than another brand I had in the past. I received this as a gift, but have since bought another to keep as a spare.
#The_Fly_Water

QUESTION: IS IT 24 OZ?

QUESTION: IS THIS DISHWASHER SAFE?
• It is dishwasher safe. The bottle part doesn't fit in the top shelf of my dishwasher, so I put it on the bottom. I put the lid on the top shelf. I've had this bottle for over a year and have had no problems.
• Yes, it is. But I choose to hand wash...
• I have put it in the dishwasher with no issues, although you should use the top rack.
• Hi Cerena, I honestly don't know, but it seems to be. I haven't washed it with soap/detergent since I've bought it. I find that it keeps very clean and has no smell. I only use it for water. Sincerely Manav D
• I personally don't trust it in the dishwasher. I think brand wise nalgene isn't a good idea for dishwashers either

QUESTION: NEWBIE? #1: VS. CAMELBAK BITE VALVE, WHICH EVENTUALLY RUINED MY VENEERS- PLS CONFIRM- NO BITE VALVE, JUST FREE-FLOWING H2O WHILE AIR GASPING?
• No valve, just a big hole. Perfect for continual use. I even refill the bottle through the spout area. Love it!
• No bite valve. Just a spout with free flowing water.
• Not sure I quite follow the wording of the question. The Nalgene snaps open and you can drink by just opening the latch. No bite valve. But remember, very cold drinks will cause condensation on the outside which will obviously spoil your veneer. Use a coaster or keep it away from finished wood.
• No bite valves. Pop open the lid and there is a 3/4" wide open spout.

QUESTION: DOES THIS BOTTLE FIT INTO THE NEOPRENE SLEEVE THAT FITS OVER THE TRITAN BOTTLE?
• No it doesn't.
• I do not know. The diameter of the bottle is about 2 7/8 inches if that's any help.

QUESTION: DOES IT STAY CLOSED WHEN IN SOMETHING LIKE A BACKPACK? MY PUSH-BUTTON CONTIGO SEEMS TO ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO OPEN THE VALVE ACCIDENTALLY
• Absolutely. When you push the cap down after drinking, you hear a snap. Then it has a wire connector that slips over the opening also. Mine has not leaked a bit, and I have carried it in my backpack and in my huge travel purse with no problems. I love mine! I hope this helps. :)
• It has come open for me occasionally when I don't use the wire latch part, but as long as you use the wire latch it's perfect! Mine has never opened in my bag once I remembered to use that.
• It does for me! Stays shut in my bag and even when dropped...

• Its very, very light, inconsequential.

QUESTION: CAN YOU CLIP THE BOTTLE WITH THE LIDE?
• Not really, because the lid will not be secure if you use the lid as a clip. However I put a big clip on the lid to clip it to my gym bag. It works perfect.
• Depending on the size of the clip yes.
• Yes the lid has a loop made for your finger that can be used with a clip. Doug
• Yes you can but it would require opening every time.
• Yes, you can. However, we got hold of some #4 S-biner's from nite-ize and used them to clip onto our day packs (with one side of the s-biner) and used the other side to clip onto the bottle lid. Worked great on our trek through Norway (planes, trains, boats and hikes)

QUESTION: RIGHT NOW THERE ARE TWO OPTIONS LISTED: "ONE SIZE" AND 20 OZ. IS THERE A DIFFERENCE?? WHAT SIZE IS THE "ONE SIZE"?
• Pretty sure they are all 20oz. I think it is up to the seller to define size, and likely a third party and Amazon list them differently
• I think the one size is a 20 ounce bottle, but it can actually hold up to 22-24oz. I noticed when I clicked on "one size", it showed a completely different picture than the one it showed on 20 oz. pic. Strange. I'd go for the one size. It's a good bottle. I like mine so much, I ordered one for my son and he likes it fine, too.

QUESTION: HAS ANYONE NOTICED A STRANGE SMELL? LIKE RUSTY METAL? I KNOW IT SOUNDS STRANGE. I HAVE TRIED WASHING IT, AND THE SMELL IS STILL THERE.
• No, the bottles and tops fit in the dishwasher and clean up well. I'm sorry for you- we only put water in so perhaps that helps-
• Hmm...not for me. You could try asking the manufacturer if you haven't yet or maybe ask some REI employees.
• Not with these bottles I havnt. I had bad water smell until I put a better filter on my fridge water. I did away with the built in fridge filter and put a nice inline filter in the basement I replace every three months.

QUESTION: DOES IT RESIST STAINING IF I CARRY TEA?
• I've used it for everything from iced tea, to iced coffee, to milk, and plain water. I have seen no staining, and no odors.
• I had no stains internally, using only cold beverages. The white silicone rubber on the cap got stained with mud.
• I haven't tried tea in it yet, but did have cranberry juice (about 2 oz, with water) in it. Thought it had stained a bit, but washed out. LOVE this bottle!!!!
• I really don't know, as I haven't used them for only occasional tea.... but 4 out of 4 times it was fine... Long term-daily? I just don't know.

QUESTION: HOW FRAGILE IS IT?
• I have dropped my Nalgene bottles many times and never once I experienced any crack in the bottle. The weak point is in the cap which may break if it suffers a direct impact on the ground with a full bottle of water.
• I don't believe it is very fragile at all. I have dropped mine several times and it keeps on ticking. The one issue I had was when I dropped it on my ceramic tile in my kitchen, the top broke! I let Nalgene know and they sent me a new one.
• It is very strong, I dropped it to. But once it fell upside down and the lock in the lid broke

QUESTION: HOW MANY OZ
• At least 22 oz, 650 ml, and a little bit more
• Looks like about 18 or 20 ozees

QUESTION: CAN YOU CARRY IT IN A PURSE WITHOUT LEAKING?
• Definitely. This does not leak at all. My 3 young boys have used them for years in their back packs without any leaks. If the water inside the bottle is cold and it is a muggy day, than the bottle will "sweat", but it does not leak.
• Not sure, depends on how big your purse is. It definitely will not leak though.
• I have not tried to do this but as long as you tighten the lid and lift the ring "lock" up it should not leak.

QUESTION: HOW WIDE IS THE BASE? MY CUP HOLDER IS 4 INCHES.
• Using a tape measure, the base is just a tad under 3 inches. That includes the curve at the bottom. You should have no problem fitting it in your cup holder.
• About 3 inches
• Base is under 3 inches across and tape measure around the base if 9 inches.
• It will fit. Not sure diameter bit a lot less than 4 inches. I use in the cup holder in multiple vehicles and it fits just perfect.

QUESTION: WILL THIS FIT INTO A STANDARD CUP HOLDER?
• Yes it will
• It will fit, as long as you don't have the neoprene sleeve (sold separately) on it as well.
• Yes, but be aware that it is a bit top heavy so if the bottle has little fluid in it and your cup holder is shallow like a gen2 Honda Odyssey, it could tip out.
• Yes, it will!
• My fiancé uses this product and I believe she puts in the cup holder when we drive out of town

QUESTION: WHAT'S THE CAPACITY? HOW MANY OUNCES?

• 20 oz

QUESTION: DOES THIS FIT IN A HOLDER ON A BIKE?
• Yes
• That would depend on the cage and where it's positioned on the bike. The bottle's diameter seems about right for most cages I've had. I did not buy it for that purpose however.
• It should fit most bike bottle cages, also vehicle cup holders
• Yes it does. Its taller than a typical water bottle so depending on where the holder is, it may not work due to the height.
