QUESTION: COULD I MAKE AN OVERHEAD TARP SUNSHADE OUT OF THESE BY SEWING THEM TOGETHER?
• David I would not recommend just sewing the blankets together and using as a overhead cover but if it were me I would get some heavy material such as something water proof like canvas or tent material. Sew the weather blanket to the back side of the canvas and this will help keep the heat away siting under it. I think the materail as a emergency blanket is a wonderful thing but to just use it as a cover the wind or weather would make it not last very long but that's my opion. I have a camper and have made curtain liners with it and it help from the heat or cold when we use the camper and we have noticed the air conditioner on the camper does not run as hard when it's really hot out. We use the A/C a lot less since I made the curtain liners.
• I' ve read that the mylar pouches are heatsealed, for longterm storage,& mylar balloonsare also heatsealed... I think that in order to protect the integrity of the material, if you couldn' t use some form of heat to meld 2, or More together, that tape,( duct or Gorilla,) would be better. And,either overlap the edges,by 6-9",& tape both sides,or even better, for strength; make a kind of french seam. With the edges of the blankets, one on top of each Other, fold them over( maybe 1/2")& then over again, before taping on both sides of the blankets. Prob. 2 sets Of hands would do this more easily. This way,you would not have weakened your material, but have strengthened the edge by folding it in on itself. How strong,& windproof a cover, not sure. But,if the Mylar Was under a tarp, it should be a much stronger " roof". Hope that helped.
• I am not sure, I haven't tried but they are cheap enough to give it a try.
• In a word NO: However, you can laminate this micro fine aluminized mylar to a strong base material such as a poly, nylon or other tarp with 3M Heavy Duty Automotive spray contact adhesive or Prematex Heavy Duty Body Shop, headliner and carpet adhesive. By doing so you will have both the reflective, strength and waterproof qualities incorporated in one sheet. Good luck, many including I have had success in doing so.
• They are thin mylar or some similar material, and they will tear easily anywhere there is some place to start the tear (like a nick in the edge, or maybe a hole from a needle). If you want to join several together I would recommend using some variety of tape, or maybe some glue. I am sure that you could make a lightweight sunshade with this material, but it is not opaque, it has a similar light transmission to mirror tint sunglasses. I hope that helps.
• SEwing probably not a good idea. Would easily rip when punctured. Try some double sided tape.

QUESTION: IS IT TRULY A PACK OF 10?
• Yes it is a pack of 10.
• Yes
• Yes
• Yes. I kept five and sent 5 to my daughter. Picture a large black trash bag folded up to fit into a zip lock sandwich bag with all the air sucked out of it to make it flat. (only smaller) I hope to never have to use mine, but just want to keep them in the car for a winter emergency. They are large enough once opened to cover your body, but thin enough to carry in your back pocket.
• Yes they come in individual bags for a total of 10 blankets. :)

QUESTION: ARE THESE REUSABLE? FOR EXAMPLE, IF I WENT CAMPING AND LINED THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF A SAID SLEEPING BAG WITH THIS, DOES IT STILL WORK LATER?
• It depends on how rough you are, my littler kids would probably destroy it (think thick tin foil that is pliable) so I buy doubles for each person for each bag. That way I know I have a couple nights worth to be able to get home or wherever I am going. (fingers crossed behind my back)
• In my own opinion with care I would feel like they could be reusable; Although it says "disposable" these blankets are actually pretty sturdy for what they seem to be, think like saran wrap but not as sticky and like four layers stacked on each other... I hope this analogy helps it's really the best way I could describe it verbally; But once again I feel like these can be used numerous of times, take in mind though if when you go to store them for later and instead of neatly folding them you wad it up like a piece of paper the will get crinkly and I feel like that may weaken it's structure
• Gosh I am not sure how strong they would be. I bought them to add to all our families cars. They are almost like tissue paper. Sorry I can not be more help!
• Yes, you could use it again if you are careful. I would not recommend sleeping in bag because you would get too hot using the thermal blanket and start sweating If the temp is not below freezing.
• I have not used them yet. But I plan to refold and reuse. As long as your not to rough with them i guess. I bought them for the car in case of an emergency. Sorry I wasn't more help. Good luck!
• I have them hanging on my windows with safety pins through some of them They are thin, but seem very sturdy I have not had one rip or tear and I move them about quit a bit I say yes you can reuse them
• Umm yes Im sure like with all plastic base products It will lose its holding power or you could say reflectiveness ! Be carefully cause I will melt if very close to a fire but it is a great lining start base for a camp site also it may be used as anti thermal vision ! I can say becarefull & just test one your self & see what you like & don't like about it. you could also in line your sleeping bag with it too, but remember ALL PLASTIC OR PLASTICE BASE PRODUCTS ARE ALL TOXIC so use at own risk & have a great day YEH bless & peace!!!

QUESTION: IS IT GREAT TO LINE A LIGHT COTTON FABRIC CURTAIN TO KEEP OUT THE COLD. THATS HE ONLY PURPOSE I AM INERESTED IN
• I am not certain of this. In a perfect enclosed airtight situation, I'd say yes. But in real life, where curtains are not used in an air tight sealed environment, I would say no. But without knowing more exact parameters, I can not say one way or the other.
• Don't know. stick on UV filters for windows are also made of mylar. have you looked for thermal versions of that?
#Emergency_Mylar_Review

QUESTION: WOULD THESE WORK AS CEILING VENT COVERS? I WANT TO ELIMINATE FLOW OF A/C IN 2 ROOMS TO REDUCE HIGH ELECTRIC IN SUMMER. TAPE THEM W/GORILLA TAPE?
• I don't see why not. They are fairly strong to be so thin. Once they are torn or cut they tear easily but in good shape with seams they are strong. I've seen people stuff towels and tape plastic sheeting over a/c vents so I wouldn't hesitate to use these. Certainly less penetrable than towels or rags. Just fold it to the size you need - or perhaps it would be unfold it to the size you need and tape away.
• This should work (of course, after doing anything possible with usual vent controls to reduce air flow before reaching the mylar) with the billowing of the sheets outward that you might expect. The sheets are strong, there is some noise but mostly when they are 'crinkled' vigorously. It seems worth a try (I think I would be tempted to keep the sheets a little smaller than the max length and width that you could tolerate; that would leave room for a second sheet in case you were afraid of the development of any weakness or tape peeling). In one challenging application, I have covered liquids which I had to keep outdoors which I did not want to freeze quickly in low temperatures; I found moderated thermal conduction - as you should want - and good resistance to damage.)
• Yes, I believe they would work. I'm not sure what kind of tape to use. You might experiment with different tapes to see which would be best.
• I don't see why not. I'm sure that good old duct tape will work.
• yes, they are good quality
• Yes, they will I used them to help on both heat and ac to help with the electri bill. I also used these as aback curtain to help keep heat and cold out then I place my regular curtains over them here is the savings from last year on average I have saved or cut my electric bill by 40.00-55.00 dollars on the month. Hope this answered your question.
• It might help it but I don't think it will say up and work. All they r is very thin plasticy tin foil material. So ya if any thing it might help for a little bit but it definitely won't last. I would even bother to try it.
• Plus even if it did work it would be very noisy. So even if you do get it to work u probably won't want to leave it up. Idk but good luck
• Yes, it should work.

QUESTION: THE DIMENSIONS READS "9.4 X 6.5 X 2 INCHES"... IS THIS CORRECT???
• That is apporx. the size of the package they come in, it is not the size of the thermal blankets once unfolded.
• they are as stated, 84" x 52" unfolded. Farther down in ad, it states stats which had this measurement.
• Certainly not 2 inches. Probably about 2mil. Or .002" Its good quality. However they only sent me 1 not 10. Kind of a rip for the price.

QUESTION: IS THERE ANY LEAD OR PHYTHALCTES IN THE BLANKET?
• This is a good question. An honest answer; I do not know if they contain phthalate (never heard of the stuff), however they do not contain lead. I am a retired, 21 year Army with 3 combat deployments. I have seen them used, and used them myself, in Iraq, Ft. Bragg and in Korea. My understanding is they are non-toxic and safe. I have not heard, read or seen any adverse side-affects form the use of any space /emergency blankets on the market. Aside from them being somewhat thin (and noisy) and made in China, there are no other issues that I know of with them. I do understand your concern, makes me want to do some research. Last note, I considered the purpose in which I would be using them before I purchased them, and I believe no home/family should be without a couple on hand. Thanx for your question, I hope this answer helps. V/r, BDW
• The package just says Mylar and has no description about where it was made. It has an American Flag and says it is recommended by Homeland Security but I didn't open the packages because I have them in an emergency kit that I keep in my car. Sorry that this doesn't answer your question, but I just don't know.
• I doubt that they have any lead in them because they weigh next to nothing. I am assuming that they are like the ones I've had before and they are very thin (like s Mylar balloon).
• No! It is primarily used in the formulation of many PVC products, and another non-plastic uses.
• It did not state exactly what it's made of.
• Sorry I did not open the blanket yet, I will use just in case of any emergency,I can't say if is there any lead or phythalctes on it !

QUESTION: I WONDER IF THESE COULD BE USED TO WRAP AROUND PLANTS TO PROTECT THEM FROM FROST OR FREEZING WEATHER CONDITIONS?
• I really don't know, but I like the idea of using the blankets for that. I would like to try that.
• These are more of an "insulator" to help hold in body heat, I don't think I'd take a chance with the plants.
• I suppose but they are VERY VERY thin and I don't think they could stand up to winter weather all that well.

QUESTION: HOW MUCH DOES ONE EMERGENCY BLANKET WEIGH? THINKING OF USING THEM AS GROUND COVERS / FOOTPRINTS UNDER BACKPACKING TENTS, THHOUGHTS?
• I never weighed them as they are in a packet and the packet is very light. Ground covers could be quite good. They would need to be weighted down as the blankets are light. Under tents? Could be too thin. I agree with you that there are many uses for them. I don't have anything to weigh something that light. Sorry.
• It's super light weight it's like a weight of a number 2 pencil
• They are just a few ounces. But they are fragile and I do not think they will hold up to use as a "footprint" for a tent. They are light weight and for "emergency" use only. They are good to augment a blanket or under a poncho. I do not feel they are durable enough for rougher use. A plastic painters ground cloth or small tarp would be better. You could use the emergency blankets between your air mattress and your sleeping bag though as a heat reflector.
• Super thin like aluminum foil, somewhat transparent, I'm using them to reflect sun on windows.
• I don't have a scale, but it's just a few ounces. It might work better in your sleeping bag, facing you, than under your whole tent, facing up.
• Unfortunately, I have not opened the package as they are in my emergency kit. I would assume, however, that they are a thin mylar-type covering. I do not expect them to be very large, just enough to minimally cover a medium sized person.

QUESTION: I'M GETTING MICROWAVED AND WIFI'D BY A COUPLE RETIRED COPS, CRAIGS LIST... WILL THIS MATERIAL ACT LIKE ALUMINUM FOIL TO STOP THE RADIATION?
• It's Mylar . Not aluminum . Don't take the chance. Use aluminum and kryptonite
• not as well
• Mylar has highly reflective properties and will work better than aluminum foil(for everything except cooking.) It can also temporarily block your thermal signature from infrared cameras if needed.

QUESTION: WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW THE DIMENSIONS OF THE BAG. WOULD A 6' TALL MAN FIT IN ONE? THANK YOU.
• Size 54x84.its a emergency blanket not a sleeping bag.iam 6ft I was able to wrap myself up pretty good.read reviews also.
• 54"x84". My husband is 6 foot and, although this would cover him in height, it would NOT wrap completely around him (he is height/weight proportionate). He would have to have 2 in order to get the full benefit.
• It's not a sleeping bag, but I would say it covers about the same surface area as the top of a standard sized mattress. It's a single sheet of very thin plastic, so I wouldn't use it as a sleeping bag, though it might work as an insulator inside of a sleeping bag, if you don't move around too much. I'm 6'3" and it was long enough to cover me, as a blanket, from neck to toes.
• Like others have answered, it will be plenty large enough. I don't use them as a sleeting bag. With clothes on, remember you are in a plastic reflexive bag and you will sweat if you get too warm. If the outside temp is freezing you will be damp and could get cold faster. Just warning that I faced several years ago. I now use one on top and one for a ground sheet. Works for me. Good luck.
• Yes, plenty of room
#Thermal_Blankets_(Pack

QUESTION: 1) COULD I WRAP THIS AROUND A HOT POT (WITH STOVE TURNED OFF OF COURSE!) TO ALLOW COOKING TO CONTINUE WITH THE HEAT OF THE FOOD? HOW LONG DO YOU THINK IT WOULD STAY HOT?
• no.....It will deform if direct high heat is applied to it. Could be dangerous.
• Good idea probably another 10 minutes at least.
• Doubtful as the blanket is thin Mylar. I cannot imagine that you could put a hot pot in it without it being damaged.
#Emergency_Mylar_Review

QUESTION: HOW STURDY ARE THESE? I WAS THINKING ABOUT HAVING THEM SEWN INTO A CURTAIN, TO REFLECT HEAT AWAY FROM MY BEDROOM WINDOW.
• I'm not sure you could sew them into a curtain without damaging them. They are very sturdy, but if you poke a hole in them, then they do rip. You can tape then back together. But I don't know what would happen if you started poking a needle in them. You might be able to find a way to hook clips to the top of them and use them as an underlining for the curtains without poking a hole in them. I use them in my greenhouse to wrap around plants and reflects the heat back on themselves. They take a lot of shoving and pushing around without tearing, but like I said once you tear them, the hole goes everywhere unless you tape it up quickly.
• the purpose of these is to have heat from a light source or heater aimed toward the reflective side and let it bounce heat back to you. I don't think you would be getting any of that if you put these as a liner underneath fabric. You would be better off with a fabric liner.
• I don't think they are heavy enough for that. They are very light weight. I think they would tear if you tried to put a needle in them. Best use for them bug out bag.

QUESTION: CAN I USE THESE TO PUT OVER MY WINDOWS TO KEEP THE HOT SUNLIGHT REFLECTING OUT, OR WOULD THAT JUST TURN MY TROPICAL HOME INTO MORE OF A SAUNA?
• I think it would work out just fine. It would reflect the sunlight. No, it would not make your home hotter for sure. Good luck with it.
• I think it would work out just fine. It would reflect the sunlight. No, it would not make your home hotter for sure. Good luck with it.

QUESTION: IS THIS REUSABLE? I'M GUESSING IT'S NOT SINCE THE PRICE IS SO LOW... THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
• You can reuse them, but they are made to be disposable really thing but good for the moeny
• yes, providing you have been careful with them and they are not torn....but you will not be able to fold them as small as they were, so just carefully fold them as all as you dare or roll them
• I am sure it is reusable since I took one out and unfolded it completely, then refolded it and put it back into the plastic envelope. I expect they are easily torn hut a little careful handling and it should be fine. Hopefully, no one will need an emergency blanket more than once.
• It is a very thin film, but mylar is very tough. If care is taken not to rip it, it should be able to be folded back up (albeit not as small a package) and reused.
• Yes, but only for a short period of time.
• I believe I read it was indeed reusable but it really doesn't get dirty you can shake off the dirt or spot wash. Depends how you're going to use it. If you are using it as a blanket to keep warm I don't think it would retain dirt. They are pretty tough.
#Thermal_Blankets_(Pack

QUESTION: WHERE WAS IT MADE?
• Initially developed by NASA for the space suits and insulation in their space crafts... it is now a very commonly produced item by worldwide aluminum companies as it is also used in the packaging of foods such as candy bars, potato chip bags, etc. But there is no manufacturer nor their location, specifically listed. Sorry. All I know is that they work very efficiently!
• China

QUESTION: DO THESE COME INDIVIDUALLY WRAPPED?
• yes each blanket is wrapped individually and then all wrapped in one package so if ur going campin and need one just take one out
• i think mine did.
• Yes but only individually.
• Yes, each one in the package I recieved were in their own individual mini-ziplock bag. Be sure to count the amount you recieve as I was going through it yesterday and noticed it only had 9 mylar blankets instead of 10. Of course the price I paid for 9 was way cheaper than going to a department or sporting goods store, and I plan on purchasing more in January.
• Yes they do. Easy to store for those emergencies.
• I second previous answers
• They do! Which is nice because I passed them around to friends and family, and put them in various backpacks and cars.
• yes they are all individually wrapped in a decent zip lock resealable baggie. nice!
• yes, It has a bigger bag to hold those thermal blankets. those blankets are also wrapped in a smaller bag.
• Yes!!! Each in a individual and sealed bag. Very practical and space saber!! I hope I helped...
#Emergency_Mylar_Thermal_Blankets_(Pack

QUESTION: WHATS THE LENTH AND WIDTH OF THE BLANKET?
• They are really large when opened. I am only guessing, but I would say about 4feet x. 6 ft. I was surprised at their size because they are packaged the size of a deck of cards. I hope this helps, and I did get a pack of ten.
• I don't know the exact length or width, but they are huge. I would guestimate 50" by 60"
#Emergency_Mylar

QUESTION: DOES THE FABRIC CRINKLE OR MAKE NOISE?
• Yes, its like wrapping yourself in tin foil. Its very loud ,but really nice and warm. They are thin. I use it when I let the dogs out. We have weather of single digets at night.
• Not exactly crinkle, but it is a soft flexible plastic.
• Your very welcome:)
• Yes it certainly does. And because of this I have had to limit the applications I use it for
• Yes
• Each blanket comes individually sealed in a small plastic packet until ready for use. I have not had occasion to use one yet so I don't know if they make noise. Since they are made of mylar, I would imagine there would be a slight crinkling noise. They are made of the same material as the shiny balloons you can purchase for special occasions at local party and dollar stores.
• Yes. They're like the kind of blankets they give you after running a 1/2 marathon/marathon.
• not when it is folded in it's packaging. but once you open it up yes it will make some sound. is't the same material that they make those shiny party balloons out of so it'll sound like that.

QUESTION: ARE THESE INDIVIDUALLY WRAPPED?
• Yes , each one is a separate bag
• Yes they are. Each are in a plastic wrap.
• Yes
• They are individually wrapped.
• Yes - each one comes in an individual plastic ziploc bag, then they come in a plastic bag of 10 packs.
• yes they are
• They are not, but they are folded separately.
#Emergency_Mylar_Review

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE THICKNESS OF EACH INDIVIDUAL PACK? I'VE READ THAT EACH PACK IS 5.2 INCHES BY 8.4 INCHES BY???
• The packing that the mylar blankets came in is as follows: Each mylar blanket is folded to fit a zipped plastic bag which measured 4 inches wide x 5 inches long x 3/4 inch thick. There are 10 of these bagged mylar blankets within a larger zipped plastic bag which measured 9 inches wide x 12 inches long x about 1.5 - 2 inches thick. I hope this information will help Ms. Fernandez. s.s.f.
• Individual blanket packs are approximately 3" x 4 1/2" x 3/8" (3/8" is the measurement when compacted with fingers.). They don't take up much space and are light weight. They look like aluminum foil but have more of a plastic sheet feel and usability. Hope that helps.
• I even cover yourself well is like the size of a single bed
• maybe a half inch thick
• w-2 3/4" X L-4" X T-3/8" I have the tape in hand right now. Each mylar blanket is folded to fit a zipped plastic bag

QUESTION: ANYBODY EVER LINE A DOG HOUSE WITH THESE?
• Well I didn't use them for a dog house personally. But I imagine it woul be possible for you to line a dog house. I put staples in them and them seem sort I fragile if you pull on them or anything. They can rip but they would be good at holding heat
• No
• No
• No
• No
• Yes

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE ACTUAL SIZE OF THE BLANKETS? I WOULD LIKE THEM FOR THE HOMELESS SLEEPING UNDER BRIDGES, WILL THIS WORK?
• These will fit most men....4.5' x 7'. Good idea.
• 4.5 ft x 7 ft. Each blanket comes sealed inside it's own zip lock bag inside the package. I have not tested the warmth but as with most of these types of products they should be more than adequate.
• Your reason for purchasing is the same reason that I purchased mine. The blankets are 52" x 84". I'm told that these blankets don't react well to being poked with sharp objects but that is counter intuitive to their purpose. But at around 60 cents per blanket to buy a product that has a 4.5 out of 5 average rating, it would be a crime not to buy them. I'm also trying to work up enthusiasm to build a birdhouse or two and lining the ceiling of these birdhouses with a piece of a thermal blanket might help heat retention in the Winter and reflect sunlight in the Summer.

QUESTION: WHY DO PEOPLE ONLY GET ONE WHEN THE INFO SAYS 10/
• i would contact the seller i got ten with mine
• Contact the seller, almost sure there is a mistake....I got ten as advertised.
• I got 10 in my pack. Contact the seller.
• I got ten.
• I received a pack of 10 individually wrapped blankets.
• I got 10 of them!!!
#Emergency_Mylar_Review

QUESTION: HOW WELL DO THESE WORK FOR ANIMALS?
• I don't have any direct knowledge on the animal aspect. Since it's a thin-plastic, aluminum-coated product, claws might be an issue. That being said, using the mylar sheets to line the ceiling and walls of a dog house seems to hold promise of heat retention for the animal. Given the low cost of this product, it might be worth a try.
• Thay are basically a one time use emergency blancket. It would probably just rip if you used it for that, the material is very thin and lightweight. Meant to be used in survival situations.
• Hi Kristen I use them in a plastic tote that is insulated with Styrofoam, and then wrap the Styrofoam with the mylar blankets sides, bottom and top, one blanket will do an entire tote, cut holes front and back (for exit), add straw and between the straw Styrofoam, and mylar blanket(which reflects the cats body heat), they stay nice and warm thru frigid temps! A good buy!

QUESTION: HAS ANYONE USED THESE TO COVER A WINDOW IN COLD WEATHER? I AM LOOKING FOR A SOLUTION TO A TERRIBLE HEAT DRAIN.
• If used inside and sealed well I don't see why not. I used a few to section of an unused part of my house last winter.
• No. These are blankets, to keep warm. I suggest getting new, efficient windows.
• maybe.
#Emergency_Mylar

QUESTION: WILL PUTTING ONE OF THESE IN THE BOTTOM OF MY HAMMOCK BELOW MY SLEEPING BAG, KEEP ME WARM?
• No
• Not really. You've done yourself a big favor as far as heat retention goes by getting off the ground.
• No
• No
• No there is no real benefit based on expereience with Mylar off the ground in a hammock. We lose protection in cool, wet, windy, weather, and insulation values when off the ground so to speak. In Warm Weather Hammocks are a wonderful idea. Mylar in warm weather could help with rain or wind, but there are stronger better "insulation" tarps or nylon flys to use. When it's windy and you crouch down, less of our body is hit by the wind. In a hammock we are exposed from every angle. Cold and I'm low. Warm I tend to keep my shelter low as well. For fun and in hot weather with the right trees and shade, hammocks can cool and protect in a different way.
• I haven't a clue. try it and see.

QUESTION: I AM LOOKING FOR A REFLECTATIVE MYLAR MATERIAL FOR A SOUTH FACING SUN ROOM IN ALASKA TO LINE ON THE WALL WITH DUCK TAPE. WOULD THESE WORK?
• They are fairly durable material. I would think so.
• If you are looking for something to reflect heat these will work. But they are very thin so working with them will be a pain.
#Emergency_Mylar_Review

QUESTION: HOW LONG DO THESE BLANKETS LAST?
• Unopened they last for years. I have had a couple (unopened) for maybe 20 yrsrs now. If they are kept unopened in a container like a large plastic tote with emergency supplies, should be fine. It would be the others items that degrade over time that affects comtents usually
• I've had mine 2 or 3 years. It's been in the trunk of my vehicle all that time, because I have had no cause to use it.
• So far, I haven't had an emergent situation to use them. I have two in my car, two in my wife's car, one in her bag, one in my bag, and the rest are probably shattered about in boxes and nooks around the house. The only one that I opened-no one knows where it is. I just know I couldn't re-fold that f***er. I'm sure ones that I haven't opened will last a very long time.
• I don't know I only got 1 when I ordered 10. Wouldn't recommend

• Yep it is ,
• Yes, this is perfectly normal.
• I don't knowif it's normal but mine came the same way
• The ones I received were in little zip lock bags with a paper label inside that just said emergency blanket. Many companies order bulk stock that is unlabeled so they can put their own label on if they choose to do so. If they are the correct size and are mylar, I personally wouldn't worry about it.
• no all of mine came in individual packaging. each had a label in each package. does make it easier in the individual package so you can place them in several location I keep several in my vehicles and in an emergency pack. gave most out during a forest fire and excavation they work well and I was a sceptic. they also work well in making a shelter

• Yes it is highly reflective.
• The Mylar insert provides insulation and the foil cover can reflect heat back to the body or deflect heat from the sun.
• Yes, it does reflect light. Looks just like aluminum or the mylar balloons that you buy at the dollar store.

• Maybe 2" x 2" 6" That 'a just a guess
• It was in a box with other items but it could have shipped in a legal size envelope

QUESTION: WOULD THIS ALSO WORK AS A REPLACEMENT FOR A HOT WATER HEATER INSULATION BLANKET?
• Its possible in a tight situation, but for a long period of time for get it. most likely the material will break down and their goes your heat savings, and most likely your hot water might even put some heat off in the basement to some level of warmth just maybe but never count on any thing other than an expert.
• No I do not believe they can be used for a hot water heater insulation blanket. They are thin sheets of Mylar. I would be afraid of it being a fire hazard.
• I'm not sure. I would think that there would be some kind of fire hazard. I know that I wouldn't use it in that situation.

• I think I ordered the 10 pack, but haven't need to open any of them yet, just keeping in our family cars in case of emergency.
• I purchased the ten pack, but the 4 pack would be great for four people.

• There are 10 mylar blankets in the package. Each is 5.2 inches by 8.4 inches and each package is a ziplock and it can go back in. Would be handy to have in the glove box for emergencies.

QUESTION: DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE TO GET THE WRINKLES OUT OF THESE SHEETS BY GRAVITY AFTER YOU HANG THEM, OR HOW TO DO IT FASTER THAN GRAVITY? THANKS
• We used one for a school project and I hung it outside on the clothes line for a full day (6 am until 7 or 8 pm) and the creases from the folds were still there. Granted they were not as deep but not at all smooth. I don't have any idea of other means to remove them. I'd be afraid to try anything else due to them being so thin. GOOD LUCK!!
• No. Open a new package if the used one is too wrinkled to use. This is an emergency item.

QUESTION: HI COULD THIS MYLAR BE USED TO INSULATE BOILER OR FURNACE PIPES FOR THE WINTER MONTHS? THANK YOU
• I would buy insulation to wrap first, then you might want to use this on the outer wrap. I use them to cover windows to keep heat out in the summer on south and west windows and heat in during the winter on north windows.
• You would be better off buying wrap or tube insulation. The blankets are too thin.
• I doubt it, while they are mylar, they are extremely thin. I don't know that I would risk the possible melting or fire hazard. All of this is my thoughts, no experience

QUESTION: WOULD THIS WORK TO WRAP AROUND LARGE OUTDOOR POTTED PLANTS IN THE WINTER?
• Tried some in Montana 2 years ago, plants just froze solid. Worked ok earlier in the fall but not late in winter. Tried some here in Colorado last year seemed to work ok, no frost burn etc
• I don't know. My guess is that it wouldn't help unless the pot itself was heated from an independent source. I've found these blankets superb at reflecting back to me heat generated by my body. But it doesn't seem to insulate me from the cold; it's a very thin sheet of plastic. Hope this was useful.
