QUESTION: HOW DOES THIS PRODUCT COMPARE TO THE ENO SLAPSTRAPS?
• Ok, so there are a few differences between this product (atlas strap) and eno's slapstraps. They are both tree straps, but the atlas is a bit longer than the slapstrap. The atlas is 9 feet while the slapstrap is only 7 feet 4 inches. They are both the same width. The slapstraps weigh one ounce more than the atlas. The two straps are also made out of different material. The atlas is made out of PolyFilament Webbing while the slapstraps are made out of Tubular Nylon Webbing. The atlas straps have 30 adjustments points & daisy chain design while the slapstraps only have 8 adjustment points & loop design. They both can only hold 400 pounds. Also the price is a little different, and the atlas straps are a bit more expensive. I do not own the slapstraps but I do own the atlas straps and I have found no flaws. Hope this helps :-)
• I have neither, but while searching for the difference myself I stumbled across someone's blog post where they compared the two. They said that the slap straps were an original model and even thought the pro model is an upgrade from the original, it is still nylon which has a lot more stretch. They had to constantly adjust the slap straps because even once securing the straps 5 feet off the ground, the hammock would dip down to 2 feet off the ground. They had no stretch issues with the Atlas and said they are far superior.
• From someone who has owned both there are several advantages over this style of strap 1.) These are less prone to stretching.. Not saying slapstraps stretched much but they would stretch while laying in your hammock 2.) These have more connection points meaning more adjustments for your hammock 3.) Overall, these are made of a better material I like these much more than my slapstraps and they are well worth the price difference

QUESTION: WILL THESE WORK WITH A HENNESY HAMMOCK?
• I couldn't be sure. They seem to be universal but Enos makes them so I would stick to Hennessy straps
• I'm not familiar with the Hennessy hammock, but if it has carabiners at the attachment points it will work.
• They should work with any hammock as long as you have sturdy carabiners that are attached to your hammock and can hook into the Atlas straps.
• Yes it will, i currently have a Hennessy Hammock and it works great with it to allow more versatility!
#Eagles_Nest

QUESTION: HOW MUCH WEIGHT CAN EACH STRAP HOLD? WILL IT EASILY HOLD UP MY DOUBLE NEST WITH TO TEENS IN IT?
• I would be surprised if it did not hold. The straps are very sturdy. Myself (190 lbs) and my friend (120lbs) have been in a single hammock using these straps with no problem. Hope this helps.
• They hold up 200 pounds each...two of my "bigger" guy friends got in mine who were at least 180-200 pounds each and it held fine! :)
• The straps are meant to hold up to 400lbs (200lbs a piece), but me and my girlfriend have sat in my hammock before and we weigh closer to 430lbs. SO it should hold, but be wary of the weight limit.
• Let me put it this way, I have more faith in the straps holding me up than I do the hammock. So yes.
• 400lbs
• It says on each individual strap that each will hold 250lbs. when you use both together, that's 500lbs. I'm sure this will hold more, as most straps are "rated" for a specific weight, but can hold twice, and sometimes, 5x the weight listed. That's how straps are designed. You will have NO problem with these. And they work perfectly. I have already tried them and was impressed. I weigh 220lbs. and it was like there was no problem. I highly recommend them. Good luck and I hope this answered your question.
• Yes, it will certainly hold more than that I've had well over 400lbs in my custom 14' hammock while using these straps.
#Outfitters_Atlas_Strap

QUESTION: IS THERE A WARRANTY AVAILABLE FOR THESE? I DON'T SEE ANY DOCUMENTATION.
• On the label that is attached to the carrying pouch in the fine print at the bottom of the label it say's it carries at 2 year guarantee. So save the label along with your receipt as that will have the date of your purchase on there. But that's all that came with mine.
• GO to the ENOS website it's all there.
• There is no need for a warranty. They are very durable and will last you years and years.
#Eagles_Nest_Review

QUESTION: WILL IT WORK ON A 4X4 SQUARE STEEL POST? I'M WORRIED ABOUT THE SMOOTHNESS OF THE METAL AND THE SQUARE-NESS OF THE POSTS.
• I believe it will. The strap cinches itself pretty good around any object. Obviously I haven't tried but I think you will be okay.
• Not sure if you could wrap it tight enough to hold or not. I'd not want to chance it and hit the ground when you crawl in!
• Yeah we only used with trees. Even for somooth trees it works. I feel like it is going to slide because of the somothness of the metal. Sorry:(
• Yes, they should work on the steel posts. I would just make sure the steel is sanded and smoothed as to not dig into the straps. I used them on my front porch and attached to my smooth pillars and they held just fine. These things are very durable and there are myriad adjustments to attach your hammock.
• In theory, it should work so long as you're able to tighten it, but if there is absolutely no friction, it might not work. That could easily be remedied with a band of some type of adhesive.
• I would not use this on steel posts unless you welded a smooth eyelet on it with no burs. Simply would not clinch properly
#Eagles_Nest_Outfitters_Atlas_Strap

QUESTION: ARE THESE STRAPS BLACK AND ORANGE AS PICTURED? I HAVE ONLY SEEN THEM IN BLACK AND BLUE IN RETAIL STORES.. I NEED TO GET BLACK AND ORANGE. THANKS!
• I think so. We have 2 sets, one black and orange and one blue and black. I'm pretty sure the orange and black ones are the ones I ordered of Amazon. The others were a Christmas present.
• Mine are Black and Orange just like in the picture.
• I just got mine today and they are black and blue.
#Eagles_Nest

QUESTION: I'M NEW TO HAMMOCKS SO PLEASE FORGIVE ME. I ORDERED THESE STRAPS FOR MINE AND EACH STRAP SAYS IT SUPPORTS UP TO 200LBS. DO THOSE ADD TOGETHER TO 400?
• Yes, the weight limit for the hammock is a total of 400lbs.
• yes
• Yes exactly right. Each strap is 200lb for a total of 400.
• Logic tells me that the weight limit is the lesser of the weakest part, NOT the total of all parts. I'd hate for my 300 lb friend to hit the ground because he tried this!
• Probably too late to save your sore hind-parts, but the correct answer is NO. Unless you are doubling the two straps at each end of the hammock, the weight limit will only be 200lbs with a single 200lb capacity strap at each end. Example, if you tie two pieces of 5# test fishing line together at one end, and hold it by the knot, you can theoretically support 10 lbs of weight fastened to the other (doubled) end. But if you take hold of one single end of that length of knotted line, and fasten a weight to the other end with the knot in the middle, its rated breaking strength is only going to be 5# (discounting the strength reduction of the knot itself).
#Outfitters_Atlas_Strap

QUESTION: DOES IT WORK WITH ALL HAMMOCK BRAND?
• Yes lt does
• I have no idea. You would probably need to research that answer. They are solid straps that connect to a hammock via carabineers. If another hammock fits that description, then I would say yes.
• Eagles Nest Outfitters Atlas Straps work with most hammock brands although it is not reccomended to use them with anything other than authentic Eagles Nest Outfitters products.
#Eagles_Nest_Review

QUESTION: DO THESE COME WITH CARABINERS?
• No. But if you buy one of their hammocks you won't need to buy anything extra for everything to work either. A hammock plus these straps make a complete set. And these straps are EXCELLENT btw!
• No, the straps do not come with carabiners. (The ENO hammocks do come with carabiners.) And I agree with Kelly - the straps are great! Very versatile and strong.
• The straps do not come with carabiners. The hammock DOES come with carabiners. So if you buy a hammock and straps, you're all set. I think the previous person who said yes, is thinking of the hammock. The straps are straps only. Hope that helps! -Above The Ridge
• No.
• These do not come with carabiners, as the ENO hammocks are equipped with them.
• No, the carabiners come with ENO Hammocks. Thanks! Kevin Beckwith Gear for Adventure
• The Atlas Straps do not come with carabiners but the ENO Hammocks do.
• Yes, 2 carabiners that will support up to 400lbs I believe
• The hammocks do not come with carabiners. Eagles Nest sells the hammocks and all the extras separately.
#Eagles_Nest_Outfitters_Atlas_Strap

QUESTION: IS THE WEIGHT OF THE STRAPS 11 OZ TOGETHER OR EACH?
• I don't know what the individual wieght of the straps are, but the whole set up is nice and super easy! You do need to compensate for some strech and tree bend when using!
• Honestly I didn't care enough to weigh them when I got them. I'm holding them in their bag now, and I don't believe it weighs over a pound, so I reckon both of them together equal 11 oz
#Eagles_Nest

QUESTION: I'M ASKING FOR THE BOUBLENEST ENO HAMMOCK AND I NEED TO KNOW WHAT KIND OF STRAPES I NEED
• I bought the ENO atlas hanging straps and i couldn't be happier with it. I used it on various tree diameters and spacing, worked great with a super fast set up. Was able to get my rig up auick and help my brother figure out how to make his ratchet straps work.
• The ENO Atlas Straps are the preferred accessory to a DoubleNest, even a SingleNest. And we even have people buy the Grand Trunk - Trunk Straps, which come in assorted colors other than black, and are the same type of webbing material used to support the hammocks both ENO and Grand Trunk offer. The ENO Slap Straps are $5 less, but we don't carry many of those because the Atlas strap is a preferred choice by about 50 to 1, no joke. Hope that helps!
• I bought these straps for my ENO double hammock; These straps will work for the eno hammocks, but you can find other ones that work as well. The eno hammock has a carabiner at each end so you can buy anything that can attach to that and will hold the weight of two people.
#Outfitters_Atlas_Strap

QUESTION: DOES IT COME WITH THE HOOKS
• It comes with snap type rings at each end of the hammock, but you have to buy the straps to go around a tree to attach the hammock rings.
• No, the hammock has hooks attached to it but the straps do not.
• No, the hammock has hooks attached to it but the straps do not.
• Negative, there are no hooks with the straps.
• Nope. Your hammock should have hooks
#Eagles_Nest_Review

QUESTION: CAN YOU LEAVE THESE STRAPS ON THE TREE PERMANENTLY AND JUST QUICKLY ADD THE HAMMOCK WHEN YOU WANT TO USE IT?
• If the tree has bark they will stay. They are very easy to put up and take down!
• Yes though you will need to readjust them when you replace the hammock so I suspect you will end up removing them. They are meant to be portable.
• We go camping in North Carolina and stay for at least week, and that's what we do. I'm not sure about permanently, but these are great durable straps, and im sure you could. But like everything, it's probably not the best to leave outside permanently with weather.
• You could but since it only takes seconds to strap them around the tree I wouldn't do it. They will dry rot if left out in the elements and you wouldn't like it if they broke and you hit the ground!
• never tried it but probably. I like to use mine in different places though.
• I would not I think the sun would make the rot after a while. But they are very easy to put on and off.
#Eagles_Nest_Outfitters_Atlas_Strap

QUESTION: DO 2 STRAPS COME WHEN 1 PURCHASE?
• Yep, 2 9' straps with multiple connection points for shorter lengths come with the purchase. The straps are nylon and stretch very little. Very secure support for your hammock, I highly recommend.
• Yep two straps are included. Great product.
• Yes, you get 2 straps - easy to use and adjustable to any size tree
• Yes
• Yes.
#Eagles_Nest

QUESTION: DO THESE COME WITH A STUFF SACK?
• It's not a "stuff sack" exactly, but yes, they do come in a small nylon bag to keep them contained.
• no, but we got these with a hammock, that did have a stuff sack.
• There is a sinch bag to put them in, but due to the nature of the strap they can't be compacted. Just roll them up and put them in the cloth bag. Rolled up they are about the same size as the hammock.
• Not a stuff sack, but very similar
• If you mean a little sack to hold the straps the answer is yes. It comes with the two straps and a sack made about of a similar material to the hammocks that pulls tight to close it.
• Yes they do, The stuff sack is a little small for the straps once they have been opened from the original packaging, but they do still fit. The stuff sack is not water proof or anything fancy, just a stuff sack made from the same material as Eagles Nest Outfitters Hammocks.
#Outfitters_Atlas_Strap

QUESTION: I NEED TO HANG A HAMMOCK. IS AN S HOOK INCLUDED?
• No
• No, the ENO hammocks come with carabiners on either end of the hammock. No S hook needed.
• No, the straps do not include S-hook or carabiner. Carabiners are available separately from ENO or climbing vendors. ENO hammocks come with carabiners.
• No
• No S hooks are not included with the straps.
#Eagles_Nest_Review

QUESTION: HAS ANYONE FOUND THE NEED TO BUY THE XL STRAPS BECAUSE THE REGULAR LENGTH ISN'T LONG ENOUGH?
• If you are going to be going around trees that exceed 3ft in diameter while being far apart, maybe XL straps are needed but the Atlas normal ones can still go around a very large tree with slack. Every tree I have encountered has been fine. The slack from tree girth is used to make up for distance in the two trees.
• Yes, it is a good idea to buy the long straps, because you can use them for many more scenarios - as you never know how far apart the perfect trees will be. My sons each bought XL straps and have been very happy and ini situations where others didn't have the XL straps and were wishing they had them.
• No, we have mature oak trees in our backyard and the straps we purchased from ENO are just fine. You can always return them should you have a problem with the straps length.
#Eagles_Nest_Outfitters_Atlas_Strap

QUESTION: DO YOU NEED S HOOKS WITH THESE?
• Yes, or carabiners. I use two Petzl ultra light from my mountain stuff. Click ... Et voil...
• No. The straps come ready to connect to the hammock.
• No. The strap wraps around the tree and hooks through a loop on itself. Then the hammock clips into one of the loops with a carabiner (which comes with the ENO hammocks).
#Eagles_Nest

QUESTION: HOW MANY CARABINERS DO YOU NEED TO SET UP A HAMMOCK?
• I use two. one on each end of the hammock. Some tree straps need one on each end by the tree also.
• If you're using an ENO hammock then they will have the 2 carbines needed. Otherwise the straps doesn't need any.
• I find that the 2 attached to the hammock are sufficient. Pull the strap around the circumference of the tree, then feed one end through one of the loops to achieve desired length, repeat for second strap on another tree. Attach carabiners that are included with the eno hammock to the terminal loops of the straps. Then position yourself on hammock (carefully) and enjoy.
• Two. One for each side.
• 2. ENO Hammocks come with carabiners already hooked up to the hammock. You may need more if you decide to amend the hanging system.
#Outfitters_Atlas_Strap

QUESTION: DOES IT COME WITH CARABINER CLIPS?
• No, just the straps. The 2 ENO hammocks I bought came with a carabineer on each end.
• Sadly no, you'll have to buy your own carabiner clips :(
• I don't think so. This was for my son. Don't thing they needed carabiner clips - came with metal "S" hooks I think...
• No
• i think it does.
#Eagles_Nest_Review

QUESTION: DO YOU THINK THIS WOULD WORK IN-BETWEEN TWO 6X6 PRESSURE TREATED DECK POST? VS TWO TREES.
• Definitely. As long as they are rooted into the ground far enough. I would recommend wrapping one of the straps around one of the posts and pull it pretty hard. If it feels unstable, I would not recommend hamocking on it. You can pretty much use these straps on anything as long as they are long enough to wrap around it and as long as whatever you wrap them around is strong enough to support your weight.
• It works great in both cases. If they seem too close together you can double up the straps to make them shorter if need be.
• Pssh u can hang it between to car doors if u park the cars right distence. As long as each post can support the weight without breaking or coming out of the ground then yes ofcourse
#Eagles_Nest_Outfitters_Atlas_Strap

QUESTION: CAN THESE STRAPS BE LEFT OUTDOORS ALL YEAR LONG? THANK YOU.
• Mine have taken a beating and keep on going. I'm pretty sure they are 100% nylon so you should be good to go
• The sun will eventually destroy anything, but living in Texas myself, I'd say you could safely get 2-3 years out of them without worry. They are very well made.
#Eagles_Nest

QUESTION: CAN YOU CONNECT 2 STRAPS TO SAFELY GET A LONGER STRAP? MY TREES ARE A LITTLE TOO FAR APART FOR THE 9" STRAPS.
• I wouldn't see why not. I actually Orginally thought these straps wouldn't stretch between my trees either but they did with extra room. There are several hooks on these straps to make them adjustable and you can always flip the straps to have the hoops at the end instead of beginning. To be quite honest I definitely think you can get away with hooking two straps together.
• I am sure you can, you just need a carabinier that is rated two hundred lbs. I love mine.
• Save yourself the money and use 550 cord to extend from the strap to your hammock. Straps are great in that they do not girdle the trees, but they are not exactly the most cost effective way to bridge a gap.
#Outfitters_Atlas_Strap

QUESTION: I HAVE THE ENO SLAP STRAPS PRO CURRENTLY AND THEY STRETCH WAY TOO MUCH, BUT THESE ARE MADE FROM POLYESTER INSTEAD OF NYLON SO DO THESE NOT STRETCH?
• They do, but not more than a few inches.
• these do not stretch, how you set up your hammock is how your hammock is in the morning. worth the extra cash in my opinion.
#Eagles_Nest_Review

QUESTION: DOES THIS STRAP STRETCH MUCH? AS OPPOSED TO THE ENO PRO THAT STRETCH A TON.
• It is not a super stretchy product no. It's stretches a bit, but not a ton. I've never personally seen the ENO pro ones through so hard to compare. I was told the Atlas straps where top notch, that's why I decided to go with them verse any other version
• It's doesn't not stretch much, if at all.
• Nope. It doesn't stretch hardly at all. I bought a second set for my wife. They work great.
• No. They do a little which is why it is important to put weight on them BEFORE getting in the hammock but they are called atlas straps for a reason; they hold up.
• Mine don't seem to stretch at all. I weigh 200 and haven't noticed any stretch on them.
• These are a great product....very little stretch if at all
#Eagles_Nest_Outfitters_Atlas_Strap

QUESTION: DO THE STRAPS COME AS PICTURED? IN OTHER WORDS, DO THEY HAVE ORANGE STITCHING OR BLUE?
• I'm not looking at mine right now, but yes, I think mine has blue stitching.
• Orange
• Mine came as pictured with the orange stitching.
• They are as pictured with orange stitching.
• yes mine had orange stitching.
#Eagles_Nest

QUESTION: HOW EASY IS THE SET UP? AND ARE THERE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PROPER WAY TO SET THEM UP?
• I don't remember if there were instructions. It's so easy, they aren't needed. Wrap and clip.
• I also don't remember if there were instructions in the package. However they do have a video on their website showing you the Hammock and strap setup. It's nothing complicated. Set it up, get in and see how it fits. If adjustments are needed they are very easy to make. YouTube has a lot of videos on them with lots of ideas and tricks you can use. I love mine.
• Incredibly easy. No instructions, but you want the end with all the loops near it to be attached to the hammock. Just push the one end through the other after wrapping it around a tree. Plenty of adjustability.
#Outfitters_Atlas_Strap

QUESTION: WHAT COLOR IS THE CARRY BAG? THE PICS SHOW GREEN OR GREY.
• Mine was blue! And the stitching on the straps was orange. I didn't choose those colors so I'm not sure if it's just random or if everyone's is like that.
• Mine can in a blue bag.
• The one I got is green
• Mine was a blue/green color.
#Eagles_Nest_Review

QUESTION: CAN THE STRAPS BE USED WITH OTHER HAMMOCKS BESIDES ENO HAMMOCKS?
• Yes. They only wrap around trees and allow places to clip a carabiner. Works with anything. Great straps!
• Yes. Carabiner fastens into strap and will work with many other brands.
• Yes they can. The only requirement is a hook on either end of the hammock to use for attaching to the straps.
• Yes. You just hook the carabiner from hammock on the loop of straps
• If the hammock you are trying to use has some kind of clip on either end rather than just a string of some sort, then yes! Absolutely, and I HIGHLY recommend these "Atlas straps" over the regular "Sap straps" as well. They make the whole process much easier and more convenient.
#Eagles_Nest_Outfitters_Atlas_Strap

QUESTION: ARE THE STRAPS ORANGE AS IN THE PICTURE? I HAVE AN ORANGE ENO HAMMOCK. THX.
• They are actually blue. I ordered these because thought were orange like the picture but received ones that have blue stitching.
• I dont believe the atlas straps do but i think ENOs other versions of tree straps do
#Eagles_Nest

QUESTION: WOULD THESE STRAPS WORK FOR A REGULAR TREE HAMMOCK
• If you were to attach a caribener to the ring of the hammock then yes. The straps wrap around the tree using a loop at one end that the other end threads through. Then, the hammock is attached via caribener to one of several loops sewn into the strap.
• Absolutely, It can be used as hammock suspension on any hammock.
• Yes, they will work on any hammock.
• yes
• These straps just go around the tree and have loops to hook to. If your regular tree hammock can hook to a loop (Carabiner, hook, or some sort of attachment/hooking device) these should work fine.
• Yes I have these straps holding 3 hammock's in my backyard that is full of trees. Very sturdy. No problems.
#Outfitters_Atlas_Strap

QUESTION: 11OZ TOTAL WEIGHT INCLUDING STUFF SACK? OR PER STRAP?
• Hi, this is 11.7oz WITH Stuff Sack, and 11.1 oz without stuff sack (and that's the weight of both straps). So each strap would roughly be 5.8oz each. Hope that helps!!
• 11 oz is the total weight for both straps and the stuff sack.
#Eagles_Nest_Review

QUESTION: DOES EACH STRAP SUPPORT 400LBS INDIVIDUALLY, OR IS IT A COMBINED MEASURE?
• Combined measure. Each strap is labeled to support 200lbs.
• Both straps together support 400lbs. I have had 3 people in my hammock with the straps and no problems.
• It is a combined measure. However, I think it is rare if you can find a hammock that can support 400lbs., let alone 800lbs.
• Officially its a combined measure. But I think they are more than capable of supporting 400# individually
• Honestly I don't know as no one in my family weights that much. But the straps are very well made and sturdy material. My husband weighs 200lbs and the hammock held him and our baby with these straps with no problems!
#Eagles_Nest_Outfitters_Atlas_Strap

QUESTION: MUST I USE CLIPS ON ARM OF HAMMOCK? NEVER DID WHEN I LEARNED TO SLEEP IN ONE IN YUCATAN.
• No you do not
• Clips only work on atlas straps or any straps that are 1" across.
• I always use mine but if you have a more innovative way to do it, go for it. There is no rule
#Eagles_Nest

QUESTION: CAN THESE BE USED WITH A DOUBLE NEST?
• Yes, I use these on my double nest, and they work great! I highly suggest them.
• Yep they can. That's what I them for.
• They will work with any size eno, hennesey, grand trunk etc style hammock. They are fantastic
• Yes. That's what I use on mine. Works great. And more adjustability than the other straps I've tried.
• Yes. In fact, this can be used with any hammock that has a loop for a line
• Yes.
• Yes
• Yes
• Yes they can (I use them with my double nest). On a side note, avoid the ENO slap straps. They may be cheaper, but they stretch a lot. Atlas straps all the way if you are going the ENO route for suspension.

• Yes, it comes with both straps
• Yes, there are two straps with the purchase.

• There are two straps in the package.

• Yes
• It should depending on the two people, one strap can hold 200 lbs 2 straps can hold 400
#Eagles_Nest

QUESTION: WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE FRUSTRATION FREE AND THE STANDARD
• If I understand right, the atlas has WAY more points to adjust the length of the strap when attaching it to the stakes/trees/poles. It has constant loops for you to find the optimal length...you are not adjusting your length to the straps available loops. Hope that helps!
• Frustration free packaging is 100% recyclable packaging that is free of unnecessary packaging such as zip ties, clam shells, or blister packaging. With frustration free packaging, the customer should be able to open the box and have all components removed in 120 seconds.

QUESTION: DO THESE WORK AS WELL AROUND SQUARE POSTS? I'M WORRIED THE CORNERS MIGHT FRAY/ WEAKEN THE STRAPS.
• I don't think square posts would ruin them... I've used them on fence posts and pier support beams, and haven't noticed any fraying. I haven't had them for very long though, so I'm not sure how long they hold up before falling apart.
• They do. As long as you have it secure and not shifting up and down, you'll be fine. Even trees would do a little damage if not taut. If you have square posts that you put in, you might consider some heavy duty eye hooks as well. Hope that helps!

QUESTION: HOW LONG IS EA STRAP AND CAN THEY BE USED FOR HANGING CHAIR FROM TREE
• Each Strap is 9' long. They have multiple connection points which are very convenient for shortening or lengthening the connection points. I use carabiners to connect my hammock. Yes they can be used to hang the hammock from trees as long as they can support the weight and are not more than nine feet from each of the hammock connections. They have minimal stretch and support me - 6' 1" 225 easily.
• 9feet and I think you could hang a chair if you wanted to.

QUESTION: CAN YOU USE THESE STRAPS ON SQUARED OFF DECK POSTS? I'D LIKE TO USE IT UNDER MY UPSTAIRS DECK ON THE POSTS CEMENTED INTO THE GROUND.
• I have only used them on trees. I would think deck post would be too slick. You might put a couple nails or screws on the post sticking out just enough for the straps to catch on. They work amazing on trees even at my weight
• You can, it's not very secure.
• Yes but I would put some padding between the post and the strap if they are sharp corners, to prevent snagging
