QUESTION: WILL THIS CAUSE THINGS TO FADE OVER PROLONGED USE?
• No, not that I have seen.
• UV light will naturally break chemical bonds and can thus cause fading in fabrics and pigments. Think about old furniture or paintings that have been 'bleached' and faded by sunlight exposure....that is due to the sun's UV rays. So yes, black light (being in the UV spectrum) does possess the potential to cause fading. That being said, I can only imagine how many DECADES of constant LED UV ray bombardment would be needed from this tiny flashlight powered by 3 AAA batteries to be able to cause any miniscule amount of lasting damage. You don't have to worry about this little flashlight hurting your carpet or furniture any more than you would worry about using a normal flashlight to cause damage to your belongings. You have more to worry about by leaving your windows and blinds open during the day IMO
• No, with three AAA batteries there is no way it could generate enough energy to cause anything to fade
• The flashlight itself should not have any effect on materials, but I have not used it in one spot for prolongued periods of time. I just use it long enough to find the problem area so I can clean it.
• I don't know

QUESTION: WILL THIS DETECT FOOTPRINTS?
• I think if there was something on the bottom of the shoe it might pick up, but not sure.
• I am now not sure that it will detect anything. Pretty light though.
• I don't know if it detects footprints. I use it to look for scorpions.
• Not sure. Maybe if you had something on the bottom of the shoe the light might detect it.
• If the footprints contain organic material like urine it might...

QUESTION: DO YOU NEED THE YELLOW GLASSES WITH THIS?
• You do not need any other accessories or equipment with this.
• No you don't
• No
• No, you do not need any type of special glasses.
• No you don't. The light is well made and is very brite.
• No you do not
• No. It was visible with naked eye.
• You may want to read this article about yellow glasses http://blog.rx-safety.com/what-are-yellow-safety-glasses-used-for/ Excerpt: With yellow lenses, visual acuity and contrast will be sharpened as the blue light is filtered from your field of vision. Blue light often creates a dull, hazy aura, and vision will seem brighter and clearer once this aura is removed with a yellow lens. QUESTION: CAN IT FIND STAINS ON TILES AND WOOD?
• You will surely see them on wood if it has had time to sit and penetrate it. I don't think liquid can penetrate tile, depending on what it's made of. Try putting on yellow shooting glasses while using the light in a very dark room, this enhances UV's light effects.
• It sure can! I love this so much i have two. Where there is urine this will find it. Just ensure a dark room.

QUESTION: WHAT WILL REMOVE THE BIOLOGICALS SO YOU CAN TELL THIS IS A NEW URINE SPOT?
• For one, I used it on a area where I knew my dog urinated. I used Bissell pet stain remover in my carpet cleaner. I spot treated the area using the light to locate the spots and that worked just fine. The light is legit.
• For one, I used it on a area where I knew my dog urinated. I used Bissell pet stain remover in my carpet cleaner. I spot treated the area using the light to locate the spots and that worked just fine. The light is legit.
• I'm reasonably sure there's chemicals out there that will completely remove the spot but, I'm also reasonably sure it will do your carpet a job! All I can add is that old spots are not quite as bright as new ones. Be assured that light will show any and all spots forever even though you can't see them any longer.

QUESTION: WOULD IT WORK FOR DETECTING COOLANT LEAKS IN CARS IF THE COOLANT HAS LEAK DETECTING FLUORESCENT ADDITIVE?
• I would think so
• Not sure. I used it to detect green fluorescent protein signal, and it works. Never try other stuff. You need know your detecting fluorescent additive's excitation wavelength, if it is near the uv wavelength, might work.
• Works only in dark area. If no lights it would detect it.
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001

QUESTION: ONCE TREATED WITH A PET URINE "DESTROYER", THE STAIN WOULD STILL SHOW UP UNDER THE LIGHT, BUT IN A DIFFERENT COLOR? OR SHOULD IT BE GONE COMPLTELY?
• Mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spray it liberally over the stains. Sometimes it takes two applications but in general if you put enough on, one should do. I hope this helps
• assuming that your first sentence is not a question, that is the same result that we have. The urine destroyer gets rid of the smell but the stain still shows up with the light.
• I think once the stain had been treated and dried it should be gone completely
• No, if you've completely cleaned the area the stain will be gone. If you're still seeing the stain after using that Pet Destroyer, try using Oxiclean and/or Dawn with some hot water and scrub scrub scrub. If it still isn't gone then head to Home Depot and/or your favorite local grocery store and rent a carpet steamer and then steam it out... :)

QUESTION: WILL IT CURE 5 SECOND ADHESIVE.
• this is NOT a "curing" beam - is a BLACK LIGHT to reveal urine, blood or other body fluids that may have dried or been wiped away as in forensics/CSI - cat pee/ sold as such - read the insert/don't understand the confusion . . .
• this a black light to find stains
• You are funny. You need a specific lighting for that. No any UV light will work

QUESTION: HOW EASY/HARD IS THE BUTTON TO TURN IT ON? I WANT TO TAKE IT HIKING, BUT DON'T WANT IT TO ACCIDENTALLY TURN ON AND WASTE BATTERIES IN MY BACKPACK.
• It's a push of a button on the back side. The button is slightly recessed so something would have to really have to push on it. I don't think clothes, for ex., stuffed against it would turn it on. Bring xtra batteries...
• I got it to detect urine! Didn't work to my satisfaction, so I got my money back. Not really sure about its accidentally turning on/off.
• I think you'd be ok, though it's a little weird to take a blacklight camping :)
• I think it will be fine if you pack it. You have to press the button fairly firmly to turn it on and off.
• I do not think it would be a problem accidently coming on. You have to push the rubber coated recessed button in well to turn it on.
• it is on the end of the flash light don't think it would turn on easily it is heavier than a small two battery type

QUESTION: THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A 'BLACK LIGHT' AND A 'BLACK LIGHT BLUE'. WHICH IS THIS?
• This a black light blue...not sure of the difference.
• Never knew that there were 2 different types but from the article I read, this would be a black light not a black light blue. Here is the article http://www.lightingsupply.com/articles/black-lights-blacklight-blue-bulbs/

QUESTION: BOUGHT BASED ON REVIEWS BUT DOESN'T SEEM TO WORK FOR CAT URINE? ESP ON HARDWOOD FLOORS? SEEMS TO DETECT ANY OLD PAST WATER MARKS ON WALLS. HELP?
• I have laminate and tile flooring. It works on both for me.
• It worked on hardwood floors for me and carpet.
• I'm having issues too. It detects the areas that I've treated with enzyme treatments that no longer show in ordinary light and that have no detectable odor.
• It does detect a lot of other things but also works for cat urine. With urine regardless of age there is always a scent left behind that goes unnoticed. Not to say that it requires the user to sniff out all spots this emphasizes, but helps you spot the exact location when you wonder exactly where they have sprayed. Good Luck, but I find it a necessary and very useful tool. I would also recommend Nature's Miracle Just for Cats urine destroyer intense urine stain. This left no residue behind after further inspection with this light.

QUESTION: IS THE FLASHLIGHT MADE OF PLASTIC OR METAL?
• It looks and feels like a light metal to me. I would say it's metal but with so many synthetic materials these days I can't guarantee that it is.
• Metal
• It's made of (what seems to be very high quality) aluminum. It has a solid feel, though the batteries do rattle a little bit. Otherwise it's very sturdy.
• Metal
• Thin metal

QUESTION: WILL THIS DETECT PET STAINS ON A PAINTED WALL AND CEMENT UTILITY ROOM FLOOR?
• Yes
• Yes it will :)
• Depends on the paint--gloss, semi-gloss, flat or patterned/textured, primer coats and other top coats to the paint--all that can affect how the light can pick up the stain. I was able to pick it up on glossy-textured walls but it also gave 'false' readings from the varnish on top of the paint. As for the floors, it picked up my kitty's upchuck pretty well on matte-tile floor! With concrete, it's all about the finish so you should see it, too!
• I've only used it on carpet, and on bed skirts in a hotel room (gross). Every hotel that let's pets stay should have one. It does work on painted walls too. paintyed walls, at least it did for me. Good luck!
• It's my understanding that this light is detecting phosphorus in urine, so the surface should not matter.

QUESTION: WILL IT DETECT SEMEN ON A URINE SOAKED DOLLAR BILL WRAPPED AROUND A SCORPION IN A PUDDLE OF BLOOD?
• It will light up like the Fourth of July.
• Yes. I've seen the amateur video. HOOOTTTT!!!!!
• I haven't tried this yet, but I'd like to see a photo or video when someone does it, so please post it on here

QUESTION: I READ AN ARTICLE THAT SAID, "DO NOT BUY LAMPS WITH A WAVELENGTH OF 395 OR 400 NM. FOR BEST RESULTS, USE 365 OR 385 NM. TRUE OR FALSE? FOR CAT URINE
• I can't speak to the wave lenth thingy, all I can tell you is that little lite worked, I was smelling cat urine and it was driving me nuts, I could not find it! Tore apart the house, nothing worked. Bought that lite and accidentally put it across the screen and it fluorced like a nuke! It wasnt the carpet or curtains or couch,,,,,out side cat spraying my screens. Would have never known it with out that light! Now smell is gone!
• This product worked fine
• This light is working great for me with finding the cat urine

QUESTION: CAN THIS ITEM WORK AS A REGULAR "WHITE LIGHT" FLASHLIGHT TOO? ARE THE LEDS "BLACK" OR A FILTER OVER WHITE LEDS DO THE WORK?
• The LEDs are black.
• Has black light bulbs. Will not operate as a regular flashlight. Buy a regular small falsh light that looks similar at Habor Freight for $1
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001_Review

QUESTION: CAN I USE THIS WITH MY FLORESCENT ROCKS. (ROCKS THAT GLOW UNDER BLACK LIGHT.)
• I'm not sure, but I would think so. It works on my black light posters and on all of my clothes that would normally glow under a black light.
• I would assume. It is an actual black light, surprisingly powerful for it size.
• I would think yes.
• I would think so. I have fun using this light to look at more than just possible puppy oopsies. I've looked at the rocks around our fireplace, which is very cool, all cotton glows green, bugs outside and natural sea salt is very bright and vivid, usually almost transparent. hope this helps.
• Probably so.. it makes white paper glow.
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001_Pets_Urine_and

QUESTION: WILL IT PICK UP HUMAN STAINS AS WELL?
• Yes, it does. Make sure to use it at night in a completely dark room to get the best results.
• i would think so, but not sure
• I tried it before, but I don't think so. all I could detect with the flashlight is tiny pieces of fabrics and possible other stains.
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001

QUESTION: DOES THIS WORK ON URINE STAINS THAT ARE ALREADY DRY?
• Yes. Not the reason I purchased it. My dogs have been gone for a few years so I tried the light on the one area rug left in the house from when they were alive...in order to answer this question. It works. I purchased it to spot green horn worms at dusk on tomato plants. It also works very well for that purpose.
• Yes and ones that you have already cleaned. They still show up.
• Yes! That was exclusively what I was looking for.
• It does. I had a few that showed up.
• Yes
• Yes it does.
• Yes

QUESTION: HOW MANY WATTS IS THIS LIGHT?
• I don't know but it's not very bright. It did not work for pet urine detection for me.
• I'm not sure but it says at the bottom OBU 1W200 - if that's any help. I have found it a very useful thing to have and it is small enough that I can keep it handy.
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001_Review

QUESTION: CAN THIS BE USED IN THE DAYLIGHT OR MUST IT BE NIGHT AND ROOM DARK?
• it works really well at night, but I have used successfully during the day by closing the blinds.
• I have used it in dim daylight and it works well but much better the darker the room is.
• It didn't work for finding pet urine in the light or dark for me. I just use it as a flashlight.
• Darker the better. I daylight, I would at least close the blinds. Not going to work in direct sunlight.
• Works best in the dark. Occasionally you may see a spot in the daytime but everything is illuminated in the dark.
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001_Pets_Urine_and

#TaoTronics_TT-FL001

QUESTION: HOW BIG IS THE LIGHT? THANK YOU!
• The flashlight itself is 3.75"the light end is 1" round. At 1' the beam shines about 4" at 3' away 12" but it has a sizable sweeping area
• It's the small size, about 3-4inches
• Approximately 4° long..1/2 round. Easy to hold.
• It's a small mini flashlight. 4 inches

• It's approximately 3-3/4". It fits in the palm of my small hand.
• About 1/2 in
#Pets_Urine_and

QUESTION: YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO LOOK DIRECTLY INTO THE LIGHT, RIGHT?
• It won't blind you, if that's what you're asking.
• It is not a laser. You will not burn out your retinas. If you like looking into a light then you picked a good one. The bluish purple light is very calming. Enjoy!
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001_Review

QUESTION: DOES THIS PICK UP PET HAIR TOO? OR CAN YOU RECOMMEND ME A LIGHT THAT WILL MAKE HAIR GLOW?
• Yes, with this provision: my cat has white hair which does "glow" purple/pink. Not sure how it would work with darker hair.
• I don't think it shows hair, but it is excellent for showing everything else!
• It did not pick up pet hair. Only stains and dust. I'm not sure of a light that would pick up hair.
• Sorry, only good for urine. Great invention light to make cat hair glow!! I haven't ever seem that product.
• how do you know when it spots urine ?
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001_Pets_Urine_and

QUESTION: WOULD THIS WORK ON WHITE TEXTURED TILE? OR LAMINATE HARDWOOD FLOORING?
• Yes it works for both but it needs to be tooooo dark for better eye
• I would imagine it would but use it in the dark, it should make the marked area fluoresce.
• I honestly do not know.
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001

QUESTION: WILL THIS SHOW DRIED URINE ON A HARDWOOD FLOOR?
• Absolutely. The urine shows up vividly when dry. Much better than liquid.
• Absolutely. The urine shows up vividly when dry. Much better than liquid.
• Definitely. This thing shows urine on anything.
• Yes.
• I think so - it showed dried urine on my tile floor.
• I don't have hardwood floors but it picked up every spot in the carpet, including lint, and on all the vinyl. It also picked up dust and lint on things that would not have urine stains like tables, chairs, book shelves and the tv stand.
#Pets_Urine_and

QUESTION: WILL THIS LIGHT DETECT BED BUGS SO YOU CAN SEE THEM IN A DARK ROOM?
• No. Just urine
• It will not make the Bed Bugs any more visible, however you will be able to detect their trails and help lead you to their hiding spots.
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001_Review

QUESTION: WILL THIS WAVE LENGTH WORK FOR FINDING SCROPIONS?
• I have yet to find a scorpion with mine. Then again I am looking for cat urine. If my cat starts peeing scorpions you may not hear back from me.
• One of the most highly rated reviews is by someone that referred to himself as "The Scorpion King". He got 23 scorpions in the first night using it he said. There are also pictures of how well it lights them up, glowing bright blue through a bush. So even though I have not yet gotten mine, I will say yes it works for scorpions based on the reviews.
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001_Pets_Urine_and

QUESTION: WILL IT PICK UP BLOOD? FOR TRACKING DEER?
• I do not know the answer to this, but the instructions state that it only picks up things that are dry not wet. Hope this helped.
• I assume so yes but I haven't literally try it
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001

QUESTION: DOES THIS WORK ON GEMSTONES THAT FLUORESCE?
• Most Gem Stones have the ability to fluoresce under UV lights, while I have not used ours for this purpose it should work.
• UV light does not know or care what you use it on. If a gemstone is suppose to do something under UV, then this is UV. If the gem won't, it won't. Ask the gem, not the UV light. =)
• Yes that is why I bought it
• Yes it does. Certain gems turn radically different colors, while others do not at all.
#Pets_Urine_and

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE EXACT WAVELENGTH?
• Someone had already answered this question and he said it was about 395nm but that's according to his own visual reference and not from the manufacture.
• Packaging says 390-410nm
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001_Review

QUESTION: I HAVE A YARN THAT CHANGES COLOR UNDER UV LIGHT. WILL THIS LIGHT MAKE THE YARN CHANGE COLORS?
• If the yarn has UV reactive fibers in it then yes it will make it fluoresce.
• Yes, it should change colors if your yarn is UV sensitive.
• I have that exact model. I don't know about yarn, but I use it with invisible fluorescent pink markers and it works perfectly.
• Permanently? I doubt it. There's a significant difference between a black light and a UV light.
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001_Pets_Urine_and

QUESTION: CAN THIS USE RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES?
• Yes it can
• Yes
• I don't see why not. As long as they are the right size.
• I imagine so it uses regular batteries
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001

QUESTION: CAN I USE IT TO DETECTE HUMAN URINE AROUND TOILET?
• I just checked and to my disgust the answer is yes. The entire bathroom walls light up with something or another but there's more right next to the toilet. There's no doubt in my mind that it detects dry human urine. (I'm in a rental this weekend.)
• Yep! I use it after I have company to ensure the bathrooms are splash free. Works excellent on any type of urine and other stuff, like throw up, poop, etc.
#Pets_Urine_and

• I believe it is made in Chuna
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001_Review

QUESTION: WILL THIS DETECT STAINS ON CONCRETE?
• I don't know why it would not. I tested it on carpet, linoleum, and wood surfaces successfully. Showed me the affected area perfectly in all areas. Hope this helps.
• Mine did not detect urine stains on concrete. I don't know what you are looking for, but it doesn't seem to work for any bodily fluids. It works well for finding lint fibers in carpet, or soap stains on the sink, but that's all.
#TaoTronics_TT-FL001_Pets_Urine_and

QUESTION: DOES THIS DETECT MOLD?
• Yes
• Thanks
• Not sure. Works like a charm for old urine stains. Did not have any mold nearby to try it on.
