QUESTION: WOULD THIS BOTTLE BE GOOD FOR A 13 YEAR OLD CARRYING A SCHOOL BACKPACK?
• I think it would. The only thing may be that when full, its a little bit heavy
• This is a larger water bottle. When it's full, it weighs a lot, too much to attach to a backpack. I would recommend a smaller CamelBak product for a school-aged child.
• If your planning to put it in the water carrier on the bag it would not fit it's too big. But it's definetly good for a whole day water bottle it's very sturdy too.
• Two thoughts: it might be a bit too big to fit in a backpack, depends upon the size of the backpack, but the positive is the plastic lip folds down and doesn't leak. I absolutely love this water bottle, I'd buy it again. And I trust the manufacturer as far as the safety of the plastic. I've bought a lot of camelbak products and they are the best.
• My 16 year old takes this bottle to school every day. She will carry it by the little holder but also puts it in her backpack. It can be heavy when full, but it will fit in a larger pack. I would suggest buying a brush set to clean the straw and mouthpiece as well as purchasing extra mouthpieces.
• It depends on what you would like it to be good for. It's larger, so when full it would be heavy attached to the outside of a bag. But, larger means less times having to fill it. I carry it in my purse, and don't have any issues. It will fit inside a back pack. It's extremely sturdy and all Camelbak's have a lifetime warranty, so you can get free replacement parts using their website!

QUESTION: CAN YOU DRINK A SMOOTHIE WITH THIS?
• Depending on the consistency of the smoothie, you probably could. Be aware, the stray and mouth piece will get build up from the thicker liquid and will need to be cleaned daily in soap and water.
• I'm sure you can. The straw is wide however the mouth piece may not be able to accomadate the thickness of a smoothie. Definitely could accomadate a juice drink. For example if you used a juicer. Hope that helps!

• Probably. As with all CamelBak products, the mouthpieces are rather stiff when you first get them, I usually chew on mine a bit to make them easier to drink from. You have to bite and suck to get liquid through. The straw is pretty thick at the bottom (about the thickness of my pinky, but it gets more narrow at the top where the mouthpiece is. If it's well blended, I would think you could drink a smoothie through it. You can also pull the mouthpiece right off for cleaning, so it shouldn't be a problem in that regard either.

QUESTION: DOES THIS BOTTLE LEAK IF TIPPED OVER OR UPSIDE DOWN?
• Nope I've never had a problem with this water bottle leaking

• As long as the cap is screed on correctly, no it does not leak. Camelbak will actually replace the parts free of charge if this happens.

• If it's sitting on a flat surface no. I have tested the water bottle out by filling it to the top with water and closing the lid tight as I usually do. I threw the bottle as hard as I could (without it leaving my hands of course) and not a drop came out. That being said, the rubber nozzle controls how much liquid comes out. If it gets bent and the rubber spout opens, it will spew out, you can solve this by just simply turning the spout in its flat position. I have put the water bottle in my purse and it has still not leaked! But remember the spout was in the flat/locked position. Hope this helps!

QUESTION: IS IT LEAKPROOF?
• Yes! I have two bottles and I bang them up, drop them, and haven't had any leaks.
• Mostly. By that I mean it will not leak initially, but as the bite valve wears out, it may leak some if laid on it's side. It's an easy & cheap fix to replace the bite valve and I find it starts happening after 6+ months of daily, repetitive use.

QUESTION: WHAT IN THE HECK IS MEANT BY "ONE SIZE" OPTION?
• I have no idea but because it is a 1L bottle, it's all probably just a 1 liter size
• I ordered the 1L, not the one size, so I can't definitively answer but it is my assumption that as CamelBak uploaded the different colors they failed to remain consistent with how they described the size. I can't think of any other reason why you'd have 1L and 1L/33oz as different options when those mean the same thing (give or take .814oz). BUT. Some reviewers are definitely getting smaller bottles than the rest of us. Some customers are getting slimmer bottles that fit in standard cupholders while my 1L bottle is definitely too wide for all but the most impressively girthed cupholders. So if you end up giving the "One Size" option a shot, it would be awesome if you'd leave a review clarifying if it is in fact a smaller size.

• I'm not sure, but with mine, mold kept growing in the straw no matter how clean I kept it so I discarded this one and got a nalgene instead.

• Re Mold The silicone bite valve requires a tiny brush to be inserted with soap. When drying try using a clothes peg to keep the slit open so air can circulate through and dry it. It will not dry out if the slit is closed after washing and mold will grow.
• For me, I have a water bottle on me all the time, and it always has water in it. For a water bottle to require that much maintenance is not convenient for me. I'm much happier with the nalgene bottle. It requires zero maintenance and is just as easy to drink from.

QUESTION: HOW LONG DOES THE WATER REMAIN COLD IF I ADD ICE TO IT? WOULD I NEED TO BUY THE INSULATED SLEEVE SEPARATE?
• Yeah you would. Water wouldn't stay cold long. I would say about 45 mins indoors.
• The bottle wont keep your water cold. You will need the sleeve, or consider double wall types.
• It would probably be best to buy an insulated sleeve. It doesn't stay cold for very long. It's fine when I'm at the gym, but it melts pretty fast.
• Not terribly long, however I just drink cold water without ice (as it is easier to drink more water that way) if your like veryc cold iced water-I would suggest the sleave. Grate water bottle, I personally love it.

• Hello. Yes, you do have to gently bite the straw. But the pressure needed is minimal and I was able to use my lips without using my teeth. It wasn't a problem for me with this bottle unlike others that I had tried. I hope this helps.

• It depends on what kind of bottle you have. Our Tritan (i.e., plastic) Chute, eddy and Podium bottles are safe to freeze-just make sure you only fill them ¾ full so there's room for the water to expand. If you're using a bottle with a bite valve (like the eddy), you might want to remove the cap before putting it in the freezer-otherwise, you'll have to wait for the ice in the straw to thaw before you can drink anything. We don't recommend freezing the stainless steel, glass or Groove bottles, though you can certainly fill them with ice cubes if you like your water extra cold.

QUESTION: CAN YOU FREEZE IT
• The bottle is made of rigid plastic and I don't know if it would survive the expansion of liquid water changing to ice. I wouldn't do it to mine, but you can call Camelbak directly and ask.
• Not the rubber parts, but if you want to freeze water in it fill it about a quarter of the way, put plastic wrap with a rubber band on top to seal it and lie it on it's side in the freezer. That way the straw can still go in. Freezing the bottle alone won't do much.

• I have used thin cleaning brushes. Its about 3 bucks on Amazon, and works really well with straws. You can also use it to clean other similar thin openings.
• The straw comes off so it is easy enough to wash. I hand-wash the top section and put the bottle in the dish washer. I only use water in mine, so I'm not having any problem keeping it clean. An occasional quick rinse in hot soapy water does most of it.

QUESTION: DO I ALWAYS HAVE TO BITE THE STRAW TO GET TEH WATER OUT? SEEMS A LITLTE MUCH FOR A DRINK OF WATER
• Yes you always have to bite down which is kind of a hassle. You also have to suck really hard until the straw loosens up. Ok bottle for the price though.
• Yes, but its not hard, the pressure required for the bite is quite natural feeling for drinking out of something like a straw.

QUESTION: DOES THIS FIT INTO BICYCLE BOTTLE HOLDER CAGE?
• Does not fit in standard bike bottle holder.
• I'm not sure but it does not fit in my cup holder in car
• I think it's just a bit too big. My guess. I'm no certain. Barely squeezed it into my cup holder in my car.
• I have metal bottle holders and I bend them to fit. A little push here or a little pull there.

• Yes, almost exactly the same color
• yes the color is sky blue just like advertised .
• It looks just like the photo... Aqua blue.
• Yes! It's a beautiful sky blue just like the picture!
• Yes! It is actually a fantastic light ocean blue. I was very impressed with the color when I received it. Vivid but not obnoxious.
