QUESTION: IS IT OBVIOUS THAT IT'S A KNIFE?
• If it is on a keychain no it isn't. Being very specific if you stare at this yes youll know its something other than a key. because of how thick it is. But there is no way to make a folding knife into a key unless its that size. Other than thickness. On my keyring this looks exactly like another key. I bought one and was 5x more pleased with it than i thought i would be. P.s for it being so little the damn thing is sharp!
• If someone is really looking at your keys then maybe, but no one has ever pointed it out. I sometimes forget I have it on my keys.
• no
• No its not obvious. Very well made.it goes on your key ring and looks just like a key. Just a word of warning . Be careful if you are going in a court house or airport ect. It would be considered a weapon. Hope this helps
• Yes, its fairly obvious.
• No, not at all.
• Anyone who has seen one would recognize it on a key ring.
• It is a blade encased in a large key. You can see the blade when it is closed. This is a handy tool, and I now use it as a gift. However, I do not think it would pass a security check at an airport or a court house.
• I would say it's not "obvious", but it is noticeable. I have made it through many security checkpoints, but all it takes is "that one time" for you to lose it (at best) and turn into an embarrassing situation (or at worst detainment). If you have it on a set of keys, many times it will get by the security checkpoint because the person scanning will assume its "just a set of keys" and pay it no mind. But if they were to take a closer look, or if it was alone - as what happened to me - it will be discovered and confiscated. On one such occasion, I made it out of the country and past 3 separate scan-and-pats only for it to be noticed when I was re-entering. I had left the rest of my keys at home to reduce bulk, but since it was alone it stood out a bit more and an observant security officer (in Germany, btw - great job TSA) caught wind of it and it was confiscated, destined to be destroyed. A simple apology and a signed form consenting to confis cation later and I was on my way, minus my trusty companion :( . Just leave it in your checked bag, or safer still, at home.

QUESTION: DOES IT WORK AS A BOTTLE OPENER?
• Not engineered for a bottle opener, but you "could" open a bottle like the older generation opens bottles!!
• Bottle opener? For bottles like beer? Almost anything with an edge can open a bottle cap so technically yes. Is it designed to???? I would say not. It is an awesome knife nonetheless. Beautiful, sharg, handy, & useful almost daily. .
• Never tried, but I don't think so... unless you plan on snapping the blade using it as leverage
#SOG_Specialty

QUESTION: ANYONE KNOW IF THIS WILL MAKE IT THROUGH THE AIRPORT ON A KEYRING? I DON'T NEED/WANT THE TSA HASSLE.
• You would need to place it in checked baggage to comply with TSA regulations. If you were asking if you'd get it through because nobody would notice... I wouldn't suggest taking that chance. Best case you'd be breaking the regulation, worse case is you'd lose your knife to confiscation.
• Have made it into court houses and high risk areas, use caution, plead ignorance if it goes wrong, always ask for forgiveness, acceptance is only gained through will and force...God-Bless you and yours, we must stand up for ourselves,do not be mistaken, this tiny tool will make a difference,I respect anyone willing to fight...from a Veteran ...
• No it won't, it didn't make it through the metal detector at my job. :/
• "Maybe". QUESTION: IS THIS A LEGAL CARRY?, NYS CAN BE VERY PICKY SOMETIMES EVEN WITH ITS OWN LAWS IT STILL FINDS A WAY TO MAKE EVERYONE LOOK CRIMINALISTIC.
• In New York State section 265 of the Penal Law relates to Weapons and similar items which is unlawful to possess. I'm unaware of any subsection that would qualify this as a weapon. Courts could upon their discretion not allow this into the Courthouse.
• it could be considered a consealed weapon ? cops & courts do what the heck they want !
#SOG_Specialty_Review

QUESTION: WILL I GET IN TROUBLE FOR TRYING TO GET ON AN AIRPLANE WITH THIS ITEM?
• Yes, they will take it.
• I wouldn't risk it
• Most likely.... they have taken people's nail clippers. Remove this key and stick it in your checked luggage. I have one on my keysmart KeySmart - Compact Key Holder (Extended Black) But even that as long as I have a dime I can unscrew it and put it in the checked luggage in like 1 minute. If you don't believe me... here is last years report from the TSA in a link.. and an exert with some asterisks I added in there so you can spot it listed. http://blog.tsa.gov/2015/01/tsa-2014-year-in-review.html Many other concealed items were discovered last year including: a stun cane, a razorblade in a cell phone, a saw blade in a bible, a cell phone knife case, a lipstick stun gun, a knife concealed in a tube of toothpaste, a knife under the sole of a shoe, pen knives, a pocket knife in a potato chip bag, **** knife keys ****, a knife in a neck pillow, a lipstick knife, two rounds of .22 caliber ammo sewn into a shirt cuff, a machete concealed under the lining of bag, and a roun d of .22 caliber ammo in a tube of medical cream.
• Check the TSA website for guidelines regarding blade size.
• I have the nail file version for slitting tape on packages. Last time I went through TSA security they opened it to check that it wasn't a knife. So if you fly and don't need a super sharp blade, get the file.
• Nice Try ;)
• F that if they find it oh no will get it trouble HOW is that going to hold up they going to arrest you "oh look you sneaky terrorist forgot had one of these on key ring" that's silly just play dumb its not like its a machete IF they find it
#SOG_Specialty_Knives_&_Tools

QUESTION: DO YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT OFF THE KEYRING LIKE AN ACTUAL KEY?
• Yes
• No u can use it while its on the keyring...the blade just flips out like a typical knife.
• Yes
• Yes
• Yes
• No. It's in my keys and I can use the knife easily
• Why are people saying yes? The key nests on your keyring with the other keys. The knife can be opened and utilized while attached to the keyring. In fact the keyring and other keys can aid in gripping the knife.
• Yes
#SOG_Specialty

QUESTION: DO YOU THINK THIS IT ALLOWED ON AIRPLANES EVEN IF ON KEY CHAIN?
• Julian, I don't think it will be allowed. See this article on CNN: http://www.cnn.com/2013/06/05/travel/tsa-knives/
• I have had a similar one for years, traveled extensively with it via airplane, and never had it given a second glance. I keep it in a computer bag. TSA is basically lame but it benefits me.
• Julian, I don't think this would get a second look. I have carried a Swiss Tech Products ST66676 Utili-Key Multi-Tool, 6-In-1, Stainless Steel for several years, and have never been questioned. Check it out. I've given many as gifts, and no one has been stopped by TSA yet.
• TSA hasn't found a terrorist yet but they're great at finding knives etc... to sell later... on ebay. Not joking.. you can buy confiscated toenail clippers in lbs. :)
• I know that the regulation change would allow for this knife to be carried, as it falls under the pen knife qualifications, but I'm not sure if the change has been out into effect.
• Definitely not, especially with how much airport security has beefed up. You could probably leave it in the checked luggage though.
• Really it depends on the TSA person and the airport your going on. If its a smaller airport probably if its one like LAX probably not. I would put it in my checked luggage just to be safe.
• Sorry, I have no idea. Have heard they will allow small knives now. Give them a call
#Knives_&_Tools

QUESTION: THIS TOOL IS DESCRIBED AS HAVING A SCISSORS, BUT THE PHOTOS SHOW A NAIL FILE THAT FOLDS. IS THERE ALSO A SCISSORS?
• No
• This tool does not. There is another SOG that has scissors, but don't waste your money. I purchased the scissors too and they are garbage. I liked the SOG knife and nail file.
• There are no scissors.
• There's a similar product with scissors, which the description was probably just copy/pasted from, but this only has the file.

QUESTION: DO THE KEYS' FINISH PEEL/WEAR OFF OVER TIME?
• Yes and no. Every knife will get scratches which will take the paint off like any other scratch. But it doesn't just come off by rubbing in your pocket. I've had mine on my keys and it doest have to bad of scratches. It actually didn't take off the paint yet.
• I have mine attached to a key smart key ring so it therefore rubs against metal all the time. It's been a couple months now and the finish still looks good.
• From what I've noticed it doesn't peel/wear. I've had it for a couple months and definitely put it through some work.
• From what I've noticed it doesn't peel/wear. I've had it for a couple months and definitely put it through some work.
• No it doesn't so far.... It's a good knife key! cut like butter.
• I have only had the key for a short time, but yes, the black finish has started to wear off on the edges a little bit. I think this is because I have it on a keychain with a bunch of other keys tho
• Well the handle(looks like the key) is hard plastic so no, and the metal blade is black colored and has shown no signs of rust or discoloration so, I suppose it depends on usage.
• No but I'm having trouble closing mine it's locked up for some reason
• I have no idea I haven't had it long enough yet. But as I indicated DONT purchase the scissors.
#SOG_Specialty_Knives_&_Tools

QUESTION: WHY DOES THE DESCRIPTION SAY MADE IN USA BUT IN THE PICTURE I CAN SEE "AIWAN AS IN TAIWAN?
• Make you buy it. Blade is probably USA.
• Typo I assume
• I have no idea. Would have to get ahold of SOG
• The blade is definitely stamped with Taiwan. Maybe it is assembled in the United States but I doubt it.
• For this little box tape cutter I really don't care
#SOG_Specialty

QUESTION: WILL IT BE A PROBLEM IF I PUT IT IN THE BIG TRAVEL BAGS THAT GO UNDER THE PLANE? I MIGHT NEED THIS IN A COUNTRY THAT HAS HIGH CRIME
• You can put a machete in a checked bag. You just can't carry a knife into the passenger cabin.
• I keep mine on my key ring and made it on a plane through security with no issues. It passed the security check.
• Not sure that screeners would see it as anything other than a key when closed, but seriously, if you're headed to a foreign country with high crime, this is probably not going to provide you with self-protection! The blade is barely 2 inches long, so if you brandished it at a potential assailant, they would likely laugh at you! Great for small cutting jobs, or cleaning your fingernails!
• It is a blade that is longer than allowed on airlines. It would be a problem, yes.
• This is not a good thing to have for self defense ! A criminal isn't going to wait for you to take it out of your pocket and unfold the little blade ! Knives are illegal to carry in many countries . Go to Japan . One of the safest countries in the world !
#Knives_&_Tools

QUESTION: CAN THE BACK OF THE KNIFE BE CUT, TO LOOK MORE LIKE A KEY?
• The little piece of metal on the large part of the key is used to close the knife. I don't think any part of it can be cut. But on a key chain it looks a lot like a key, just bulkier.
• I think this would comprised the rigidity of the blade... meaning it will either bend or break easily during use.
#SOG_Specialty_Review

QUESTION: IS IT LIKELY THIS WILL ACCIDENTALLY GO OFF IN MY POCKET?
• Not a chance
• No, it stays secure when closed. It takes a little effort to open it, not too much but just enough where it will not open on it's own.
• I don't believe so. The blade folds into the key so you have to pull it to open it.
• No, this is the worlds greatest little knife. I have bought four or five of them for gifts. It fits right on your key chain. The blade locks into place and you have to hold down a release to fold the blade. It is sturdy and well made. It is a great little knife ! I will buy more !!
• No, it is so unlikely it may be conciddered an impossibility. You have to actively pull the blade pretty hard in order to get it open. I highly recommend this.
#SOG_Specialty_Knives_&_Tools

QUESTION: MADE IN US OR ASSEMBLE IN US?
• It has Taiwan stamped on the blade.
• I think so, hope so. Even if not it's a good buy. Extremely handy, always on my key ring when needed. Also makes a great gift.
• I do not know. It does not say on the knife. I think it is a GOOD knife. SHARP blade. Hangs on my key chain. I bought another one for my wife.
#SOG_Specialty

QUESTION: CAN THE KEY PART BE CUT FOR USE AS AN ACTUAL KEY?
• No, it already has a fake cut on it and the blade folds in that direction. Even if you did find a way to cut it, the blade would keep you from being about to use it as a key.
• Nope, the knife makes a flat edge and the key part is too wide.
• The blade is hinged at the tip of the key, so it wouldn't fit into any lock. That and it's already decoratively cut.
• I don't think so because the knife is in the middle of the key cover and the rivet is at the end for the knife to swing out. Also I think the key is a lot thicker then an actual key. You might ask a locksmith since they are more knowledgeable in this area.
• No
• I highly doubt it
#Knives_&_Tools

QUESTION: DOES IT HAVE A LOCKING MECHANISM, IF SO, HOW GOOD IS IT?
• It does have a locking mechanism, and it seems to work well. I use it primarily as a letter opener, and it works great for that! Looks cool also.
• Yes, it locks firmly in place when you fully extend the blade and you cannot fold it back without holding the button on the side.
#SOG_Specialty_Review

QUESTION: CAN THIS WITHSTAND A LOT OF DAMAGE? I THROW, DROP, SMASH, CRUSH, MY KEYS A LOT.
• When shut yes. When open, within reason.
• yes
• Some but not a lot
• No trouble with mine I'm 6 foot 6 270 lbs. And mine is in my back pocket on my key ring
• It's not going to break if you drop or crush your keys. You wouldn't be able to pry stuff with the blade though. It is all metal.
• In normal usage, I have found no distress to the product. I dropped it down an elevator shaft and it showed no wear. I think a misuse - like using the open blade as a level or for torquing - might damage it. As long as ou are using it for its intended purpose, it is solid.
• I would say so it's pretty strong material
#SOG_Specialty_Knives_&_Tools

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE KEY PART MADE OF?, AND WILL IT BREAK IF YOU ARE TO RUFF ON IT?
• The key part is metal. I use mine every day and I'm rough on it. Has not broken yet.
• it is metal material
• Metal. I don't think you should cut down a tree with it, but for a knife that size, it's pretty bad ass.
#SOG_Specialty

QUESTION: ARE THE PINK/BLUE KNIVES COATED, WILL THEY CHIP EASILY?
• The one I bought was coated and didn't chip at all.
• I have the one that is gold/bronze and the color doesn't "chip", it wears off though, rubbing against keys and such.
• Yes, I believe it's enamel paint . You have to be very careful with it . I carry mine on my key ring , which stays in the front pocket of my pants 24 / 7 . It's still a solid well made knife .
• Sorry I didn't get a pink or blue one but I had no trouble putting it on a split ring.
#Knives_&_Tools

QUESTION: WILL THIS KEY UNLOCK ANYTHING? LIKE A TREASURE CHEST, OR A SWEET NEW BIKE?
• I believe only the newer model
• Nope but it keeps your file handy
• This key will only open heartache...or kidney ache depending on where you insert it.
#SOG_Specialty_Review

QUESTION: IT DOES LOCK RIGHT? AS DESCRIBED?
• Yes that is correct, the blade locks in the open position.
• The key knife locks in the out position, when in use. The knife does not lock from opening. I hope this helps
• Yes it does
• Yes, yes it does. I have not tested to see its break strenght, but its good for everyday applications.
• Locks in extended position
• Yes
• It does lock open securely. It is spring-loaded so it doesn't open accidently. It is very easy to use, well-designed and built with good quality.
#SOG_Specialty_Knives_&_Tools

QUESTION: HOW CAN I POP SOME BEACH BALLS AND BALLOONS WITH THIS KEY?
• Well, it's pretty sraight forward(?) Just pop em'
• Flip out the blade and hold it downwards in your fist
• You sure can!
• Don't know a reason why it wouldn't...
#SOG_Specialty

QUESTION: HOW SHARP IS THE BLADE?
• It's no razor. My EDC is a Benchmade that I could shave with so I have a high bar. It is very usable as a quick cutting tool though. I would say it is sharper than a basic Swiss army knife if that makes any sense to you. It appears to keep its edge well as I have cut open many boxes and other simple things for the past few months and have not needed to sharpen it yet.
• Very sharp, will cut your finger if not careful...
• It's pretty sharp will cut you if your not careful
• Very sharp
#Knives_&_Tools

QUESTION: COULD YOU CUT A SEATBELT STRAP WITH THIS?
• Yes, although it is not ideal and could use a little sharpening.
• Yes, in a very easy way ! Just be careful with your fingers !
#SOG_Specialty_Review

QUESTION: THE KNIFE KEEPS POPPING OUT ON ITS OWN WON'T STAY IN PLACE?
• No there must be something wrong I have 3 and none poops out of place
• I would return it because more than likely the locking mechanism is broken. Just ask for a replacement because their excellent little knives when working properly.
• You may either have a defective knife or the locking track may need to be cleaned. The key knife should lock firlmy in place. I hope this helps
• I've never had this problem mine seems pretty tight
#SOG_Specialty_Knives_&_Tools

QUESTION: WILL IT SET OFF METAL DETECTORS?
• Yes
• I'm sure it will. I figure put in the basket with your cell, shoes, belt watch lol ect. And wish for the best. But I love it.
#SOG_Specialty

QUESTION: WILL THE BLACK FINISH ON THE KEY PORTION OF THE KNIFE WEAR OFF OR SCRATCH TO THE STAINLESS STEEL?
• If you cut a metal can with the knife, the black finish will SCRATCH off. Daily cutting of paper and plastic and wood will not remove the black finish because they are not made of metal. When you open and close the blade, it does NOT rub against the sides of the fake key housing.
• I don't have the black version of this, but the gold version wears off around the edges from other keys rubbing against it.
#Knives_&_Tools

QUESTION: IS IT LEGAL TO CARRY IN LOS ANGELES CA
• yes, it just an accessory
• Yes
#SOG_Specialty_Review

QUESTION: DOES IT SNAP TO LOCK? DO I NEED TO ROTATE FROM OPEN POSITION? OR JUST A SMALL NUDGE AND IT ROTATES ON ITS OWN TO LOCK!
• It does snap lock. Yes you have to rotate to open.
• it is not a spring operated blade so you must manually open the blade. As soon as the knife is fully opened it is in locked position and you must use the lock release to close the knife again.
• It locks into the open position and you must push the release in order to close the blade.
• Mine snaps to lock pretty sturdy
#SOG_Specialty_Knives_&_Tools

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE AMAZON ASIN NUMBER FOR THIS PRODUCT?
• The ASIN is B00LUHR71W
