QUESTION: IS THE ASH THAT COMES OFF THESE STILL HOT? IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE ASH DAMAGES THE DECK OR BURNS ANYTHING IT BLOWS ONTO?
• Nope, ash is cool, and just blows away. LOVE these and getting more!
• The stick itself is hot but not the ash. I use them on my deck without worry. My only recommendation is to store the item indoors because they do not burn as well if humidity gets into them.
• No. The ash is powdery. These are fun to use, and have a little scent, not a lot. And if you don't burn the whole stake, I just snuff it out by dipping it in my pot of flowers, and re-light when I need it again. Enjoy.
• I don't know why some of the commenters are saying the ash is cool. It's burning hot and will burn your skin wherever it lands. Also, ash does not blow away if left to gather in one spot. Our deck is stained a dark color and to remove, we must first sweep the ash away, then use water to remove completely.
• No, the ash is not hot but it is messy. I prefer the small incense over the large sticks
• Think LARGE incense wand, w/commensurate ash creation; that's essentially what these are, Martin. I doubt deck damage, but, it gives me pause re. dry oak leaves (we have many here), etc. flammable debris, if hot ash should come immediately in contact with that. That's the best answer I can give you; I'd be cautiously optimistic, as they say.
• A very small amount from the tip( size of end of ballpoint pen) could fall and burn a very tiny spot but not produce a flame on deck.. Would not burn the Amazon lights if the wind is blowing..insects are usually not that bad if there is a wind anyway. I love the tall sticks and the small incense size. They are wonderful and have a pleasant scent.
• Sorry, I didn't end up keeping them, so idk.

QUESTION: I NEED SOMETHING TO KEEP BEES AND FLIES AWAY FROM OUR TABLE AND FOOD? DO THESE WORK?
• Not that well. I wouldn't' t recommend them.
• I DOUBT lighting 3 like what they suggested in the product photo can keep GNATS n bees away... it is fairly effective in regular summer season. Even when I just light one. That said, FOR MOSQUITOS n small flies. Big flies n bees are NEVER PUT OFF ENOUGH by smoke of incense unless its a whole lotta smoke like a BBQ pits smoke n heat to chase them away. Sorry. It really is designed/formulated for mosquitos.
• Works Great Keeping mosquitoes and flies away bees I am not sure but I haven't seen any in my yard so maybe

QUESTION: I AM ASSUMING AFTER LIGHTING AND BLOWING OUT, GLOW SHOULD REMAIN, MINE JUST SEEM TO GO COMPLETELY OUT. AFTER SEVERAL SECONDS CAN NO LONGER SMELL S
• The sticks do take a while to light, however if you are patient and wait until the tip is completely burning, it should light. Wait until it burns for a minute, then blow it out and the cherry should still be lit and smoking. As for the fragrance, I have not have any problem with it diminishing. I wonder if maybe they were stored in an area where they either got too hot or too moist. I'm just trying to think of some things that may affect them. I hope this helps. I really like mine and have not experienced those problems and I've ordered several of them.
• You should let them breathe first in the open then attempt to light
• Light it like incense. Let it flame for at least 10 to 15 seconds and then gently blow out just the flame. It should continue to burn and release smoke will not show a flame just smoke.
• I lite the stick and once I see the flame I let it burn for a 1/2 minute and blow out the flame. The smoke from the incense burning will fill the air with a refreshing smell which repells the flying insects. I love them and have used them at any outdoor evening and even some daytime events.
• the glow doesn't last long, typically you only see it when you blow on it, but the stick should continue to burn down. A wisp of smoke should come from the end of the stick. If it doesn't burn down then it was likely exposed to moisture and they would have to dry out before they will work. Try some sticks from another one of the tubes, it would be odd for them all to not work, unless they were soaked in transit.

QUESTION: SO IT IS 1 STICK FOR $17??
• No it is 12 sticks for that price
• no its at least a dozen. there about the size of the large incense you see at a convienance store or headshop.
• No. The canister you see there is full of them. These things really work. We camp all summer and always have 2 burning at each end of our table. They smell great and they work!!! I highly recommend!
• No there are a few sticks... But I still got bit up often while standing in the direct path of the smoke
• No, it's 12 sticks that really work
• No, as I recall there were about 12 sticks in the container. The sticks are the size of large incense sticks.

QUESTION: HOW LONG DOES IT BURN FOR? WHAT IS THE TOTAL DURATION THAT IT CAN BE USED FOR? FOR A QUARTER ACRE YARD HOW MANY STICKS DO WE NEED?
• It burns for at least 2.5 hours Per the listing on Amazon I just use it for 15 mins and then put it out and relight it next time I go out. This stick is only for your immediate area. If you want something for acreage, look at the mosquito zappers also on Amazon.
• the sticks seem to burn quickly....maybe 1.5 hours??...maybe. and for a front porch area i burn 2 at once. that amt is sufficient for area. 12 come in a package so u would need mabey 4 burning at once. They smell great to me...and seem to keep the bugs away.
• They do last a few hours, at least 2-3hours....they are ok, but still get bit
• One stick burns for about 30 to 45 minutes depending on if there is a breeze. I believe there are 16 sticks in each container. We usually burn 2 sticks, stationed at opposite ends of our patio which is about 20 X 15 area.
• Each stick burns 2 hours, I have no idea how mant sticks you need for your yard. I bought them to take on a weekend campout and they worked really well at keeping the bugs at bay.
• Burns for a good two+ hours... If it does not burn down all the way, I relight what is left for another day. I used one for my 10x14 patio - so not sure how many you would need for a quarter acre.

QUESTION: DO YOU LEAVE THESE IN THE GROUND UNTIL THEY'RE DONE, THROUGH RAIN ETC, OR DO YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THEM AND PUT THEM AWAY AFTER EACH TIME USING THEM?
• I used then in a pot of sand or used and old citronella candle and stick it into the wax. I would store them away if it would rain.
• I always leave them until gone. Usually burn down before going inside. Just stick in planters around where we are sitting.
• I leave them in the ground until they are done. As long as they are dry they will burn.
• I leave it in the pot for next time, simply I put it out if it hasn't burnt out completely, but I don't have it where it can get wet.
#Amazon_Lights

QUESTION: DO YOU NEED AN INCENSE HOLDER FOR THESE OR DO YOU JUST STICK THEM IN THE GROUND OR IN CREVICES?
• good question. I took them to a VERY dry island, where you need to be careful about fire. I am happy to report, I did NOT burn down the resort. I stuck them into sand and made sure they were about 5 ft from the structure or any bushes. I would not stick them into the grass here in CT because they do burn right down to the bottom and I think they could leave a burn mark in the grass. They smell good, more lemongrass than anything, different than the odor of citronella, I prefer this.
• You just stick them in the ground or anything like a container or flower pot works well
• No special holder needed. Yes just in ground or pot of sand, or tall stable bottle will do.
• I just stuck mine in some potted plants I had around the patio. You could just poke them in the ground. I love them, they work great! I also put citronella votives in various candles around. I think it helps to do a couple of things.enjoy your summer!
• You can stick them anywhere you dont mind the ash falling off as it burns, I usually stick them in the ground or hanging pots.
• Just stick them in the ground.
#All-natural_Premium_Citronella

QUESTION: WHAT'S DIFFERENT ABOUT THESE "NEW" ONES?
• I don't think anything is "new" about them... it's just in the name of all their products.
• I can't say I sway anything different, they still are a great idea for when you want too sit out doors. I will purchase then again.
• I think that the size and shape are new. But I can tell you this they really work and do not have a strong odor like many repellents. Also they are natural and not made of chemicals.
• I don't know, except that because they're made with all natural ingredients? These are the only ones I ever used, and I loved them.
#Amazon_Lights_Review

QUESTION: HOW LONG DO THE EFFECTS LAST AFTER YOU SNUFF OUT THEM OUT, OR AFTER THEY BURN OUT?
• only a few minutes.. they really burn for a long time though and they are really effective
• They burn for hours afterward." You will have to put them out by sticking them in the ground else they keep burning."
• They need to be burning to be effective....at least in Northern Wisconsin where the mosquitoes are viscous! They do burn for a long time.
• There is always at least a mild breeze here so when they're out, the scent - and the effect - is gone quickly.
• As far as I can tell, there are no effects once they are out. They repel mosquitoes effectively only while smoking.
• The effect lasts for at least an hour after, if not more.
• We go inside before they burn out, and like a previous poster said, you have to stick the lit end into the ground to put them out. They burn like incense not like a candle so they last a long time. We've used them for three years and love them.
• Unfortunately, I don't know. Whenever I snuffed them out, it was usually because I was leaving the area. Sorry, I cannt be of help.
#Amazon_Lights_All-natural_Premium_Citronella

QUESTION: DO THEY DETER GNATS OR NO-SEE-UMS AS WELL AS WELL?
• I am not an entomologist but I've used 'em camping near swamps where the mosquitos are so big, they have numbers on their wings. I would say your good for every annoying flying buzzing creature.
• Yes, if flying insects get near they will stay away.
• I don't know about no-see-ums, we don't get them here, but they are good with gnats.
• We don't have no-see-ums here in PA. These work beautifully to keep away mosquito's and gnats. My outdoor party was completely bug-free. I HIGHLY recommend this product! :-)
#Amazon_Lights

QUESTION: HOW FAR AWAY DO YOU PLACE THESE STICKS FOR THEM TO BE EFFECTIVE?
• The sticks are scented. I have found the flying insects are not around for as long as the scent fills the air, and even for a time after the sticks are no longer burning. The area of effectiveness is related to wind or air circulation, working to both increase and expand the range. The reality often is that the sticks can burn longer than the time spent in the area protected. I believe these sticks to be a worthwhile item. H. Parker, Ft. Myers Fla.
• I think effectiveness and the number you use will vary by how much wind there is, the size of the area, and if the area is partially enclosed.
• You are going to have to factor in wind, area, the problem, and if the space is enclosed in any way. I treated like a better smelling citronella candle without the black smoke. Since you are using them outside which brings in a lot of variables, all you can do os use them and see. Light more or less based on the current situation.

QUESTION: I READ THIS WAS NATURAL, SO IT IS THIS SAFE AROUND CHILDREN AND PETS IN A CLOSE PROXIMITY TO BREATHE. THANKS.
• Seems ok to us. We have had a baby sitting outside with these burning and have had no reaction from the baby or anyone else. Seems really good without a strong smell.
• All Natural. Bamboo with andiroba, citronella, rosemary and thyme. All plant based, nothing more. The end is hot so keep out of reach of children and pets. Enjoy!

QUESTION: HOW CLOSELY DOES THE MANUFACTURER RECOMMEND YOU PUT THESE TO CREATE A BUG FREE ZONE? I AM HAVING A PARTY AND WOULD LIKE TO SURROUND THE PERIMETER.
• Never saw any guidelines on the packaging, but here's what I do. About a half hour prior to our gathering (which is basically the same conditions as the everglades when it comes to skeeters) I place one at each corner of the twelve foot by twelve foot concrete pad which is surrounded by greenery. They usually last about three hours so budget accordingly. They have a pleasant smell, not like the chemically smelling citronella candles. Also, most bugs hate geraniums. Happy Mothers Day.
• One on each end of a 20' deck seems to work fine.
• I always surround our patio with these when we have people over and some spots are close as 2-3 feet from where people are sitting and nobody seems to mind. Most people actually say they like the smell and have asked me where I purchased them.... very good natural smell of lemongrass.

QUESTION: HAS ANYBODY IN TEXAS BOUGHT AND USED? DOES IT WORK? HOW MANY IN A PACK? THANKS
• Madan hello, i do live in texas and i use them every chance i get. They do work for very well for the bugs. I use three at a time on the balconies
• Hi there. I'm in Florida and it worked not 100% I would say 80%. It does make a difference. I still used off spray. 12 in a pack. Hope this helps
#Amazon_Lights

QUESTION: MANY 1 STAR REVIEWS CLAIM THEY DO NOT STAY LIT. HAS THIS BEEN A PROBLEM?
• I have not had that problem.
• Mine always stay lit. Like any incense, you have to make sure they are going before you "blow them out" and allow them to simply smoke.
• They stay lit for almost three hours. Hold your lighter to the tip of the stick until it glows. They don't light instantly like a candle. After it glows like an ember, blow out the flame. Your good to go.
• I haven't had this problem. They worked fine.
• This has not been my experience.
• Not in my experience. This is my 3rd year using them and have had no problem.
• This has not been a problem for me. You need to make sure they are lit to begin with. They will sometimes catch a full flame. If they are going out, it's probably because they are not fully getting lit the first time, but I would think that would be solved quickly by relighting them properly.

QUESTION: THE AD SAYS "INCENSE STICKS - WITH 2.5 HOURS BURN TIME" SO, BEING CAREFUL, I GUESS I HAVE TO ASSUME THAT ALL 12 ARE BURNED UP IN THE 2.5 HRS!
• each stick burns for about 2.5 hours...if you burn them all at once yes- but generally you would use just a few at a time.
• One stick will burn up to 2.5 hours.
• Each stick will burn for up to 2.5 hours.
#Amazon_Lights_Review

QUESTION: CAN YOU BLOW OUT THE STICK (STOP THE BURNING) IN ORDER TO SAVE THE STICK FOR ANOTHER USE?
• I have put out the stick and saved it for another time. You can't just "blow it out", however, you have to put it out in an ash tray with sand or something similar in it to snuff out the fire. It's basically an oversized incense stick that needs to have no oxygen to it so that it stops burning.
• You can press it on the ground to stop it for future use
• Yes we have blown out and re-lit until gone
• You can dip the tip in water or stick the end in moist dirt to snuff out, you can usually use the next day once dry
• You can't blow it out. I put my sticks in small pails of sand. When there is enough stick to 'save' we put the burning end into the sand. Works!
• Depends on the size of the stick. Does the stick have any flammable liquid on it? But I would say Yes
#Amazon_Lights_All-natural_Premium_Citronella

QUESTION: CAN THESE BE USED INDOORS? THANKS.
• I would not recommend it. They are not incense they are bug repellent. And while the smell is somewhat pleasant they are still a bug repellent and you would want a good influx of fresh air.
• Absolutely not. They create smoke that detures the mosquitoes. Wouldn't want to fill your house with smoke.
#Amazon_Lights

QUESTION: HOW LONG IS THE SHELF LIFE ON THESE STICKS? FOR INSTANCE, IF THEY ARE STORED IN A COOL DRY LOCATION, HOW LONG WILL THE STICK'S ABILITY WORK?
• At least two years. They come in a huge airtight hard cardboard tube. Inside that, they are sealed in a plastic sealed bag.
• I've had them for over a year and they still work fine.
• I have had sticks that I kept for a year between seasons and they were fine. Each package of 12 is sealed. I have not really kept an open package
• I don't know for sure, but I would definitely say the next summer season. I've used leftover ones from last year and they were still effective.
• I'm still using the sticks I bought last summer and they still smell and work fine. I believe they are impregnated with an oil.
#All-natural_Premium_Citronella

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE TOTAL AREA THESE STICKS WILL KEEP MOSQUITOS AWAY?
• Not sure of measurements but we used 3 sticks around a 10x10 pop up tent and it worked well. When we sat outside on the patio at night we just used one, waved it around a little then put it in a flower pot. They work really well.
• The product is no good don't Bye it
#Amazon_Lights_Review

QUESTION: IF USED IN A SMALL GARDEN TO REPEL MOSQUITOS, WOULD THESE DETER LADYBUGS AND OTHER BENEFICIAL INSECTS ASWELL?
• Good question! I'm really not sure but I would think it would only repel them if it does while you are using the sticks not permanently. This is natural flower essence not chemicals so I'm not even harming the Mosquitos when using, just keeping them out of my space at the time. I only use the sticks when I am out in the evening so the Mosquitos and other insects have free reign when not using the sticks. It feels like a natural and kind way to keep from being bit up and they work!
• I can't say for sure, but I wouldn't worry about it. I light them long enough to work in the garden and them put them out. The mosquitos come back..
#Amazon_Lights_All-natural_Premium_Citronella

QUESTION: DO THEY WORK ON FLIES ALSO?
• They seem to deter all flying insects
• Now that's a good question! I really didn't pay attention to the flys, but we did see a drop in the number. Sorry I can't pin point it to using the sticks since the wasp population has increased, and they love flys.
#Amazon_Lights

QUESTION: IF YOU DECIDE TO GO INSIDE BEFORE THE 2-HOUR BURN TIME IS REACHED, CAN THE INCENSE STICK BE SNUFFED OUT AND RE-LIT THE NEXT DAY?
• Yes, We let them burn all the way down but if I had needed to, I would have treated it like regular incense. When tapping it out making sure all the embers are out. I never have a problem relighting.
• Yes!
• Yes. Just don't wet it. Snuff it out in the dirt or grass.
• Absolutley!! These sticks work great... I live in the south and even the extreme humidity had no affect on the ability to re-light...
• Yes you can.
• Absolutely. We do it all the time.
• Yes, just break off the tip that's lit and leave it in an ash tray....the remainder of the un-burnt stick can be used another time
• yes
#All-natural_Premium_Citronella

QUESTION: HOW MANY STICKS IN THE PACKAGE?
• 12 they say they burn 2.5 hours but that depends on the breeze. They smell better than some of the others.
• No probs, go to war with the bloodsuckers! West Nile, Zika.......don't play around anymore.
#Amazon_Lights_Review

QUESTION: DO THESE STICKS COME WITH SOME SORT OF LIQUID TO RENEW THEM? I'M HOPING YOU CAN GET MORE THAN 2 HOURS OF PROTECTION FOR THE PRICE. THANKS!
• no they are incense sticks
• Each stick (there are 12 in a pack) burns for 2.5-3 hours. Once they burn down they are done.
• These are sticks like incense so they cannot be renewed. The stick burns away and just leave the end where there is no product. I've used them two years now and usually get well over two hours per stick.
• No that's the sad part! Because they work great otherwise
• These are incense. They burn emitting a fragrance to repel mosquitos.
• They are like large incense sticks. No liquid to renew. You burn each one individually and the smoke keeps the bugs away
#Amazon_Lights_All-natural_Premium_Citronella

QUESTION: ARE THESE GOOD FOR KEEPING MOSQUITOES FROM COMING INDOORS?
• Don't use them anywhere near the home. They are highly flammable.
• We have not tried it indoors.
• No it will not.
#Amazon_Lights

QUESTION: WHAT ARE THE LENGTH OF THESE STICKS UNBURNED? I NEED TO KNOW IF MY FAMILY CAN REPACKAGE TO SEND TO ME IN A LARGE MAGAZINE SIZE ENVELOPE.
• These are pretty long. I don't know the exact length but I know they won't fit in a large magazine envelope.
• no they Will not fit... they r long and come in a nice package....
• 21" total but the part that burns is 16"........I'm about to order more
