QUESTION: CAN YOU HEAT ENDS TO PREVENT FRAYING AFTER CUTTING?
• Yes. If you don't you can waste a lot of material. Use a lighter and heat the end to melt the casing then as it cools pinch the end. Let it cool a bit or you can burn your finger tips. We are using it to make survival bracelets for scouting.
• Yes You can. i like to use a lighter, but when using a lighter you may have to keep the fire away from the cord to melt it and not really turn a blackish color. but if it dont matter then it is possible to burn. I have done a few paracord Bracelet's. look me up on FB @ Maleko Kapaona. you can see that i have burnt the ends. I do hope that i have answered your question.
• It's just like any other paracord, so yes.
• Of course! Use any kind of lighter, from Bic to Zippo, to melt the end. Blow on it, then wet your finger and smoosh the end to create a nice, round bulb.
• Here's a trick I learned working in my Dad's hardware store: Wrap the cord in masking tape (about three winds should do), then cut through the middle of the masking tape with scissors, or, better yet, gardening clippers. Light the end, and the tape will cause the flame to go out when the cord is finished. Remove the tape, and you'll have a beautifully melted end.
• Yes, I always do. It helps keep things neat. But I'm a control freak. Make sure you waive the flame back-and-forth across the Paracord that way it's an even heat. I find once I've heated up enough I kind of round it off with my fingers Be careful you can really burn yourself.

QUESTION: IS ANY OF IT REFLECTIVE?
• The only way to guarantee reflective paracord is to specifically search for it and see that it is labeled as reflective. Some paranoid is bright and/or she you but dosent reflect light for a hoot.
• I believe only the ones listed as reflective are.
• Yes paracord planet does offer reflective and glow in the dark cord.

QUESTION: CAN I USE IT FOR A DRAWSTRING BAG??
• Yes, it's definitely sturdy enough
• I don't see why not. It is sturdy and pliable. You will need to heat the ends (with a lighter) to keep the core from fraying though.
• So long as the sleeve for the cord to go through is large enough. If you need smaller you can get smaller Paracord like 325.
• Yes. It's a dense cord. It would be tight for a small bag. I even pulled the core strands out for use as lines or laces.
• If it fits, great drawstring. Lots of colors and there are knots or plastic fittings available for the ends.
• I think the Paracord would work well for a drawstring bag. It doesn't really stretch and is very strong.
• Of course! I had one of the sew shops here in Afghanistan make me a small shaving kid for deployments and he used the cord as part of a small, drawstring bag. Allows me to hang it anywhere (as a lot f places I travel are filthy) as well as tie it closed so it won't spill in my ruck.

QUESTION: DOES THIS PARACORD SHRINK OR IS IT PRE-SHRUNK?
• This paracord is pre-shrunk.
• I'm far from a textile expert but as this is nylon I don't think shrinkage is in its nature. (My assumption is you are asking if this shrinks as wool pants might when washed.)
• I regularly wear a bracelet I made from the paracord, it has shown no sign of shrinking

QUESTION: MOST PARACORD, INCLUDING VIRTUALLY EVERYTHING ELSE OFFERED BY THIS SELLER, IS ~3/8" DIAMETER, YET THE DESCRIPTION HERE SAYS 1/8". IS THIS A TYPO?
• It's either a typo or someone was heavy handed with a pair of calipers for measurement. I've ordered 100' sections to 1000' spools from them and everything has been exactly what I expected. 3/8 sounds a little big for a measurement to me but I haven't ever actually checked the diameter. Either way it's the same diameter as all other 550 paracord I've worked with and seemed better quality than some others I've found.
• The specs on 550 paracord is closer to 3/16". I think the technical specs for 550 paracord are 4.3 mm or 0.169". This is very close to a standard size paracord, but may be a tiny bit thicker than china made paracord. It is not 3/8"
• I believe that the 3/8 is usually the buckle size used. There is a size difference in 550 & 450 paracord!!

QUESTION: THE PICTURES FOR SAFETY GREEN, NEON GREEN, LIME GREEN AND NEON LIME ARE ALL THE SAME. WHICH ONE IS ACTUALLY A TRUE LIME GREEN? NOT SAFETY GREEN?
• I personally didn't buy the green, so can't answer this one
• Sorry I can't help you with that question.
• Safety green is like a neon yellow. Lime Green is the closest.

QUESTION: CAN THIS BE USED TO MAKE JEWELRY?
• It's a little on the stiff side if you want to do anything delicate, but I have seen it being used for bracelets. Try searching for paracord bracelets to get an idea of what they look like and how to make them. Personally, I would not use it for jewelry.
• Yes, as long as you have an open and creative mind.
• This can be used to make ALL "paracord" jewelry. It is military grade. I make bracelets, keychains, lanyards, dog collars and leashes...etc etc
• Yes but mostly Paracord jewlery...necklaces and bracelets. I would look up ideas before purchasing just to make sure it's the type of jewlery you are looking to make.

QUESTION: PLEASE PROVIDE PICTURES OF ALL OF THE PATTERNS AT ONCE WITHOUT A 'CLICK' FOR EACH.
• Here's a link to the colour chart on their website: http://www.paracordplanet.com/Color-Chart.html
• I agree!
• I was thinking the same thing. That would be a lot easier than having to scroll thru each one.

QUESTION: DOES THIS HAVE ANY STRETCH TO IT? I NEED CORD THAT DOES NOT. THANKS!
• I can find no decernable stretch in the cord over the short lengths used in my projects. However, all cordag will strech over long enough length.
• This is not stretchy.
• I would say, I do not notice any meaningful stretch over a short distance, but I would expect there IS some and the longer the cord the more the apparent stretch.
• In all of my experience with paracord, 12 years in the military and 23 years as a civilian using it, it has never stretched
• Yes, it does. I've heard boiling it in water will help but I've never tried it.
#Paracord_Planet_10'_25'_50'

QUESTION: IS THIS CORD STRETCHY AT ALL?
• No it's not.
• Depends on your overal length being used. Under weight, 550 paracord can stretch 1" per foot...slightly more if wet.
• Yes, it does stretch, but not like a bungee cord. If you need low/no stretch try Amsteel.
• No not really.
#Paracord_Planet

QUESTION: IS THE PARACORD SOFT AND MALLEABLE OR IS IT STIFF.
• I would say malleable, not stiff.
• I would say it's in between. Very good quality, easy to work with and most important to anyone crafting with Paracord, it splices very good. I have never had any problems with Paracord Planet cord.
• soft and workable.
• Soft and easy to work with. Good for knots and weaving.
• I would say it is somewhere in between. Great to tie knots with. Very strong!
• It is playable but not supper soft. Works good for gun slings

QUESTION: IS IT ME OR DO A LOT OF THE PICTURES REPEAT? THERE ARE SOME COLORS/DESIGNS THAT ARE INTRIGUING, BUT HAVE THE SAME IMAGE AS ANOTHER.
• It seems so looking, my use and taking pictures makes some colors seem same or off. Don't know if that's their problem.
• I havent looked recently.

QUESTION: DOES THE 1000` OF OLIVE DRAB COME AS A SPOOL OR 10 X 100` BUNDLES?
• I ordered it was canceled by vender. I did get black and it is 1 peace.
• The 250' and 1000' lengths come as spools. All other lengths come in bundles to the best of my knowledge.
• Most likely it will come as a spool. Make sure it's shrink wrapped and not in pieces.
• It comes on a cardboard spool about 6" dia and 8" long
• I believe it comes in a spool. just like if you order the 200ft it comes in a small spool.
#Paracord_Planet_10'_25'_50'

QUESTION: WHICH COLORS COME IN THE 1000' SPOOL LENGTH?
• put 1000 ft paracord and several colors from black, olive drab and several camos bright and multi.
• Im a consumer, why would I. Trace it back to seller's page and try them
#Paracord_Planet

QUESTION: DO YOU THINK THESE WOULD BE GOOD ROPES TO MAKE HAMMOCK STRAPS OUT OF?
• Yes, very high strength, the number is the weight rating, so 550 paracord is good for 550 lbs and you will most likely be doubling it up or even more, so a hammock should be no problem.
• Yes there definitely strong enough
• I bought them for suvival bracelets. You might need a thicker diameter for hammocks.
• Yes, they're good for 550 lbs.
• yes
• No, I would think its to thin of material.
#10'_25'_50'

QUESTION: DO TDO THE 1000' LENGTH COME AS 1 CONTINUOUS UN-SPLICED LENGTH?
• Yes
• Yes one 1000 foot piece
• I have not noticed any splices, and i'm roughly 500' through the one I purchased.
#Paracord_Planet_Review

QUESTION: HOW ARE THE ENDS FINISHED?
• Fused or burnt
• Umm...melted.
• They seemed to have been melted to keep from pulling apart. After each cut I used a lighter and remelted the end.
• After I cut the cord I melt the cord and while it is still hot I mash the end with a pair of plyers to flatten the ends. If you use your fingers you may regret it. I had to burn my fingers a couple of times before I found a better way.
• Melted

• Don't know I ordered Black.

QUESTION: I NEED A VERY LIGHT WEIGHT ROPE. WHAT DOES THIS WEIGH?
• It's paracord, it doesn't weigh much. Haven't you used paracord before? I carry at least 100 feet of it in my go bag at all times. Doesn't add much weight at all.
• I carry 25 feet in my backpack. I'd say it weighs less than an ounce.
• It is light and strong, but I don't know the exact weight.
• next to nothing. It is very thin of course.
• I used paracord
