QUESTION: CAN YOU VARY THE LIGHT OUTPUT TO EXTEND BATTERY LIFE? I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT BEING ABLE TO PARTIALLY CLOSE. I MEAN DOES IT HAVE VARIABLE LIGHT ADJUST
• I took a look and it doesn't look like it. You can switch it on and off and thats about it. It says that it will go for 12 hours on one battery so hopefully that works for you.
• Nope.. It only has the physical adjustment that hides some of the leds. The ones that aren't showing will still light up. It's not a big deal though. The led bulbs are very efficient. The battery life is excellent, in my opinion. I doubt you'll find a better product in this price range.
• You can not vary the light output.
• No
• No it doesn't have variable light adjust if you are talking about lower the voltage but it is really good in lumens.. One of them could easily bright my room(300 sq feet) by itself..
• No
• You can dim the lights by closing it down part way. This doesn't seem to add battery life but LEDS are low power consumption.
• You can dim the lights by closing it down part way. This doesn't seem to add battery life but LEDS are low power consumption.
• No, it doesn't have a specific button to adjust the light to make it dim. However, the product is very energy efficient.

QUESTION: IS THERE A KNOB FOR CHANGING LIGHT FROM DIM TO HIGH?
• According to the instructions, you can control the brightness by raising or lowering the height of the lamp.
• No, there is no nob or switch of any sort. The lights power on as you extend and expose the LED lights. It turns off when you compact it down. No other settings are available.
• There is no high or low, just on and off.
• No, there is no knob to dim. The lantern pulls up to a nice bright light.

QUESTION: 60 LUMENS DOESN'T SEEM VERY BRIGHT. HOW MANY LANTERNS WOULD IT TAKE TO LIGHT A 12 X 14 WALL TENT SO YOU CAN READ?
• Lanterns are bright, two should be ample to cover the area. Good for reading. However, may be a little tough to thread a needle in the light.
• One lantern would be plenty . You would be surprised at the brilliance of 60 lumens.I think the position in relationship to reading material location would be a factor.
• I was able to read just fine with the one.
• My opinion is 2 would be more than enough light. These lamps are extremely bright.
• I am not a good judge of room size and am not sure how big a 12x14 room really is. This lamp is very bright in my opinion. It blinds me when i look directly at it. I turned it on in my dark bedroom and it lit up the room pretty well. I would be able to read with one lamp, especially if it were near me.
• One lantern would be plenty . You would be surprised at the brilliance of 60 lumens.I think the position in relationship to reading material location would be a factor.

QUESTION: IS THERE ON/OFF SWITCH? CAN IT AUTOMATICALLY TURN ON/OFF WHEN DARK/DAWN? THANKS.
• There is no switch, but when you expand it or retract it, it turns off and on. It doesn't turn on/off automatically.
• There is no on/off switch. The lantern automatically powers off when you collapse it down. The unit has no light sensor for auto-dimming. There is also no automatic turnoff if left on for an extended period of time.

QUESTION: 60 LUMENS? THAT SEEMS VERY LOW. MOST ARE IN THE 300 TO 500 RANGE. MAYBE A TYPO...600 LUMS?!
• not sure of the lums, although it is bright enough to light up a bedroom or tent .
• 60 lumens is the correct value. The LEDs are very bright when you're looking at them, but doesn't translate to lighting up your surroundings that well.
• I'm not sure what you are asking but I can tell you I bought two pack all came in no damage and they are bright they do a good job at lighting in a emergency or loss of power
• All i know is that if you look at them for a few seconds then look away you see spots where the LEDs were...LOL...my first mistake...LOL they are very bright and well worth the $20.00
• I'm sure it is 600 lumens. It's very bright. It does not "throw" the light very far tho

• mine use aa batterys
• Not sure about that specific rechargeable but I am using rechargeable currently.
• Can't answer question because I did not get rechargeable type, I usually buy things that use double AA or triple AAA batteries so I don't have to worry about buying special batteries which are more expensive, I then get after market nickel metal hybrid or nickel cadmium batteries that I can use in battery chargers same thing less expensive, I am now hooking up my battery charger to a solar panel which reduces cost even more.
