QUESTION: HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD TROUBLE WITH THE FLASHLIGHT NOT ALWAYS TURNING ON? NOT SURE WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT BECAUSE I JUST GOT IT.
• Thank you for your question, Mrs. Oak. For one thing, make sure batteries are installed, and installed properly according to the polarity markings. The manufacturer has NO DIRECTIONS for such, and that is certainly delinquent on that. On the batteries, unscrew the top black piece -- turn hard if necessary, but it will come off. Batteries go in the hole. Then make sure black piece is screwed back on tight. If it's not firm and tight, a circuit won't be completed. Next --- the button needs a good push. Try all that Mrs. Oak, and let us know what happened.
• I never had that problem- but if I unscrew the head a quarter turn it goes out. Maybe you could make sure there are no burrs on the main body mating surface or trim it back a little -so the head screws in a little farther -and the center and side contacts touch properly.
• the one i have works well. very bright light. used it to hunt down a squirrel in my attic. it will be back on my sailboat if spring ever gets here. i intend to get another for my car. be sure to press the on/off button firmly until it clicks.
• I've only used it about 2-3 times but didn't have trouble with it turning off and on. Maybe there's a malfunction??
• I've had no trouble with that. You must have got a bad one...
• Mrs. Oak, I gave this flashlight to 6 of my family, and all have enjoyed it and haven't mentioned any problems. I have arthritis in my hands and it might be more of a problem to me.
• Have had a problem with mine so checked batteries and reinstalled them. I noticed the directional arrow inside the battery pack was pointed the wrong way. The base of the battery, or negative end, should go against the spring. The arrows point to the opposite direction and it won't work this way. Now mine is working. I'm not sure yet if I have another problem not related to the batteries.
• I had problem with one flashlight. I dropped one of the 5 flashlights, that I purchased from Amazon, and after I dropped that Flashlight at never worked again. The other 4 have been working very good !!

QUESTION: IS IT GOOG FOR DIVING? HOW DEEP CAN IT GO?
• Is not a "dive light" per se. Probably could get away with snorkeling, but it's really about floating and working submerged, like unfowling a prop on a boat or something like that. That's why I bought it and have it on my boat.
• I wouldn't trust it, mine leaked in and doesn't work.
• No. I went snorkeling with this light and it failed the first time I used it.

QUESTION: HOW FAR DOWN IN THE WATER CAN THIS FLASHLIGHT GO? DEPTH WISE UNTIL IT WILL LEAK?
• I only went 8 feet deep. I have it for emergencies and not for regular submersive use like diving. I think you might want a more specialized flashlight for a specific use underwater, however, it has not leaked yet. It is great in the rain!!! LOL
• I went snorkeling with my light. It failed the first time I used it. It can't go underwater.
• The flashlight is sold with 'waterproof' and 'floating'.. From past experience this means casual or momentary exposure or contact with water. Diving gear, including flashlights or cameras, that has been tested under 'SO MANY ATMOSPHERES OF PRESSURE' will provide a depth the item will remain "waterproof' to or will provide a depth over time <ie will be waterproof at 300feet/ meters for 2hours or whatever. Would suggest that you contact the manufacturer on whether they have done testing or have certification <often by independent testing labs, like Pittsburg Testing Lab, places like UL or FM are only concerned with SAFETY>
• I haven't dropped in the water yet, but they say it floats. I don't think it is meant to be submerged.
• I just dropped it in the sink - a couple of feet. I was not intending to go scuba diving with it.

QUESTION: THE BLACK PIECE AROUND THE LIGHT HEAD CAME OFF AND I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE. COULD I GET A REPLACEMENT PART FROM DORCY?
• Not sure if u can but I would contact amazon and see if u can get a refund or a replacement light
• probably cheaper to simply buy another one
• Michelle, my black piece came off too. Just wondering: what did you end up doing? Buying another flashlight?

QUESTION: IS THIS FLASHLIGHT LIGHTWEIGHT?
• completely- I couldn't even tell that I was carrying it at all. I had it clipped on my jeans loop and forgot about it.
• It's so lightweight that it floats on water.
• Yes. It's very lightweight and practical to use. I bought two them and gave one to friend.
• Yes it is very lightweight. It's a far cry from those heavy metal flashlights we all know of
• It is. Without batteries you don't even feel it. Watch out for pressing the switch too many times. Mine died a few days ago. It started off by not switching completely off. The LEDs would be dimly on even with switched off. Had to unscrew the top to have it completely off. A mess. Hopefully I find a switch replacement. Otherwise, it's a nice flashlight.
• yes..best flashlight I have ever owned
• Yes, I would consider it very light weight. It weighs approximately 6 ounces with batteries.
• yes it is pretty light weight. Had to go check but its not like a big metal light.

QUESTION: WHY IS THE BLUE ONE $9.49 AND THE YELLOW ON $7.24
• Re: Andrew's response -- I don't think it's correct that the other colored flashlights have a higher lumen output. The flashlights are all the same model, irrespective of color. Plus, the description for each flashlight states they are all the same output, 55 lumens.
• Prices often vary depending on color. Yellow is more popular, so it's cheaper. The list price is all the same, but they discounted yellow more. You'll see this when you buy all sorts of things like WD Passport Drives, tea mugs, etc.
• I feel confident that all these flashlights have the same specs. A differential in price can be observed in many Amazon different items related to colors. So, I am going to buy a yellow one at the cheapest price. I guess that prices differ according to inventory.
• The blue and other colors have a higher lumens.

QUESTION: HOW LONG DO THE BATTERIES LAST?
• For me I'm still using the ones that came with it and I do inspections so I pretty much use it every day. That's the advantage of using led bulbs.
• Sorry, have not used it much yet, so can't help.
• Did not test that, it depends on the type as well I guess. The ones coming with it are not the best.

QUESTION: HOW DO YOU OPEN IT TO PUT THE BATTERIES IN? I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING!
• The very top of the flashlight screws off. After you have it opened you will see a spring. Lift the spring out and you will see that it is the tray that holds the batteries.
• Turn the top of flashlight counterclock wise..and it willopen it
• where the bulbs are at the top as if you were shining it in your eyes grab and twist counter clock wise
• That's funny because I had the same question! I tried and tried but could not figure out how to get the darn thing open!!!
• just unscrew the top, where the light is, it pops up and out and the batteries go inside... very easy.. give the dark rubber around the light a twist...
• Open at the top, unscrew the led lights and you should be able to put your batteries in.

QUESTION: ARE THERE ZOOM OPTIONS FOR THIS FLASHLIGHT? OR DOES IT JUST STAY THE SAME FOCUS BEAM THE ENTIRE TIME. THANKS IN ADVANCE!
• There is no zoom. Its a fixed beam flashlight.
• No, just one size beam. You press a button-it turns on/off. That's it-nothing fancy but it's a good solid beam of light.
#Dorcy_Waterproof

QUESTION: IS THIS HEAVY DUTY (IE WILL IT WITHSTAND BEING DROPPED 10 FEET OR HIGHER?)
• i don't consider this heavy duty, including being dropped frequently. it is a great flashlight for the money, however, and i expect it would function best as something kept at the bed stand or in the glove box of your vehicle. i keep one in my truck glove box + have one in my atv hard box.
• A drop of ten feet is not "heavy duty," that is abuse! However, I know it will withstand falling on the ground or floor just fine. It is a good, solid little flashlight that gets the job done.
• No, can't of many that would
• Never dropped it, but my guess would be no. Perhaps that would help the one I bot that failed without dropping.

QUESTION: IS THIS BRIGHT ENOUGH TO SHINE A SYMBOL OF A FLYING RODENT INTO THE SKY FOR OTHERS TO SEE?
• Not likely good citizen.
• no, is a good bright light but not a beam to display a symbol.
• Yes very bright waterproof
• No Bruce. You'll need something bigger for that.

QUESTION: THE INTERIOR COMPONENTS OF MY FLASHLITE ROTTED OUT. THE TOP PART THAT SCREWS OFF ON THE INSIDE OF THE LIGHT TURNED ALL BROWN AND NOW LIGHT DEAD
• I would think that moisture got inside and corroded it out. This flashlight is not waterproof as described.
• Hi I'm not sure how I got this question but you should talk to the manufacturer or seller. I'm a customer.
• Make sure you are not using alkalines as they will generally leak inside the flashlight. Any NiMH LSD (Low Self Discharge), staycharged, Duralock or other batteries that generally give off the idea they stay charged for a year are the best. Otherwise you might have some sort of defect, may have stored it in a humid environment.
#Dorcy_Waterproof_LED_Flashlight_41-2510

QUESTION: WHAT BATTERES DOES IT TAKE
• It came with 3, AA batteries
• It comes with a little converter so you can use 3 AAA (that's what I use) but you can use a C
• AA (3)
• AA (3)
• Double AA but it comes with 3
• The flashlight takes size AA, which are included.
#Dorcy_Waterproof

QUESTION: CAN THIS BE USED UNDERWATER?
• The label indicates that its water resistant, not quite waterproof. I used my flashlight in a spartan race. There were times when i dunked my self, along with the flashlight, under water. It still works. I did notice that while cleaning it at home there were small water specs inside where the lights are. But this probably happened because the black cap broke off while at the race. Kind of expected haha.
• No,not for diving, but you can drop in the pool
• It is an inexpensive waterproof flashlight for any sort of underwater activities (e.g. SCUBA) so I'd say proceed at your own risk.
